****** About Living Traditions Homestead ******
Living Traditions Homestead is all about living a simple and sustainable way of life. We believe the world has gotten too “busy” and that people are missing out on many of the true blessings this world has to offer. We started as a small urban homestead in Gilbert, AZ and after the city grew up around us, decided it was time leave corporate America and take a big leap of faith by moving our family to the Missouri Ozarks.
We put out 2 new videos every week! Wednesday and Saturday. We hope you will become part of our homestead family by subscribing to our channel and watching as we give up the rat race and live simpler, more fulfilling life in the country.

Glad you are getting better, get plenty of rest when you can and drink plenty of fluids.
This flu is hitting hard everywhere! So sad to not being able to celebrate X-mas! Me, my husband and our girls is still going strong but my son couldn´t come home to celebrate with us. He didn´t want to come home and infect us, he´s such a darling! Have been very sick a couple of times with 2 small kids and hubby out of town…only a chicken coop to take care of (beside the kids, grateful for calm kids!) and that was enough for me! What a luck that you had the girls at home. We had a sudden raise in temperature with +1 C one day!!! But then it dropped to -22 and then back up to only -12 today, strange weather.
I will start to sow my chili and herbs in a couple of weeks and with that the "good season" is on! Only 5 month to summer! Hope you will get well soon and don´t get any further problems with the astma!
Congratulations to you both, Carol is a beauty!!! 💝
I'm sorry to hear that you've been sick but I hope you're doing better now. It's it possible to just cut the lettuce back and see if any grow? I've never dealt with frozen lettuce but I do use the "cut and come again" method for my lettuce, just wondering if that's possible.
Sorry about your greenhouse loss. I also lost all of my brassicas due to cold temperatures. All is not lost as we can start over. Spring is coming with new life!
Wishing you a speedy recovery! 🤗
Maybye a small hydroponic system in your home
I'm thankful that you are both feeling better and that your daughters were able to help. The flu hit me so we still haven't been able to celebrate our Christmas. Praise God for no loss of animals. (Where did you purchase your vented heater and what brand is it please?) Prayers and blessings for the New Year.
I have heard of so many sick with flu, colds and covid this Christmas. I hope you get well soon. So hard to take care of animals in the cold when you are sick.
I know how you feel. Back in April I had Covid but yesterday I started with this new flu bug, I'm asthmatic too, I didn't feel like getting up this morning but 2 of my dogs sleep with me and yesterday one had the runs and sickness, and today the other had it.Get well soon Xx
I didn't even try to get our greenhouse though because the Temps were going to just be too cold. I don't think there was going to be much you could do even if you were well. Besides maybe bringing them inside.
I am so sorry you were ill. This year I had made some fire cider. My cousin and his son got sick. I gave them some of the fire cider. He called me a few hours later and he was doing much better. He says I made a believer out of him. You can make it at home. I will be keeping this on hand for family and friends. So glad you are doing better. Stay safe and well. Praying for full recovery.
We had to cancel our Christmas plans as well. Not flu, just bad colds and coughs and really didn’t want to drive the 8 hours to our daughters house in the frigid/blizzard.
I’m glad you are recovering now. Sorry about your lettuce. So glad your animals are fine. Take care of yourselves and don’t work too hard until you’re completely recovered. ❤
Hope you feel better!
I've also seen hydroponic water towers u can have indoors or make from scratch with water pump and good ingenuity and u can put it inside and grow lettuce like 3xs as fast…weve been doing that, or even an indoor salad bar in pot with grow lights so ur daily salads are still possible…blessings
That flu is really bad. My daughter and kids got it and she’s still coughing over 2 weeks now. I have managed to not get it🙏. Hope you are well soon.
You did great in protecting your animals!
So sorry that you two were so sick and suffered loss in your high tunnel.
We too, lost a lot in our greenhouse here in Texas. When it’s 9 degrees it’s hard to garden. We will start over and pray for the best.
Reminds me of what my daddy used to say, “Crime and farming doesn’t pay!” 😂
My whole family came down with the flu during christmas…and we had the shot!
Good morning Kevin and Sarah merry Christmas from Ontario Canada 🇨🇦 I hope you feel better soon I'm so glad to hear from you please take care of yourself stay safe and God bless
Blessings dear people. We had flu during thanksgiving
I hope you get better soon take time to rest and build up your strength.
Aww so sorry y'all were sick. But as always you take great care of your babies. I had bunnies for Christmas. How do you keep your bunnies warm . I'm new with bunnies and need some advice. Your opinion would mean alot
I am sorry about you supply of food in the greenhouse. You always have a bounty of greens and what a shame that this happened. God is Absolutely 2onderful so I know He will supply your needs again. You just were not able to maintain more at the time. Take care to get well first then you can tackle the do over. Yes it was wonderful your girls were able to help see you this tough spell. Rom 8:28. God will take care of your needs because He loves you and so do I. Get better now and stay safe. God bless you.
I hope things are on the up from now on,you do well considering.
Everyone who is vaccinated…. Is getting really sick ☺️😊
That was brutal for sure. I was happy my chickens survived.
Thank God you didn't get any complications, lettuce will grow again. You might sprout some seeds and have micro greens to get you through. Take care, you're still fresh!
