Zones 5-10b

‘Flying Dragon’ has contorted thorny branching that give an ornamental architecture that is unique and interesting. In the spring white flower blooms display on the branches which become oranges later in the season. The orange fruit, hanging from the contorted branching provides an extra appeal in the fall. ‘Flying Dragon’ may reach 8 ft in 10 years. ‘Flying Dragon’ is deer resistant. While ‘Flying Dragon’ is excellent as a specimen, it also makes excellent hedges and is easily shaped to unique structures.

The fruit on ‘Flying Dragon’ tastes quite tart, similar to a lemon, and is often used in making marmalade.
