  7. Thank you! I just feed the large white butterfly koi the same as the rest of the fish. Mainly a summer food with more protein. Of course I make sure that the big guy gets a lot more of the food! Sometimes I feed him a large "koi cookie"

  8. Believe it or not, I really do not add any chemicals to our pond. I did in the beginning, about 14 years ago. Now the pond is so balanced, it just takes are of itself. We have a skimmer that helps with the leaves and junk. In the fall, we put a net over the pond to keep the leaves out. Thanks for watching! ๐Ÿ™‚

  12. Could you give me 5 tips to helping me have a healthy koi? Space? Aeration? Food? What has helped you? He's gorgeous!

  13. My large butterfly koi is now around 19 to 20 years old! I do believe that the larger the pond, the better – especially for koi, they need a lot of room. Also, they need deep water. My pond is 3 1/2 feet deep. Lots of aeration such as a waterfall and fountain. They eat any type of fish food, although koi food would be best. Lots of winter hardy plants. I do not use any chemicals, the pond is completely natural ๐Ÿ˜‰
