Container Gardening Pot Sizes – Contain vs Constrain.
In this video we take a look at pot sizes and the difference between
containing and constraining a plant.
It is important to choose the right size pot to ensure that your plant
grows at the fastest rate possible.
Containing – The pot is big enough so that it allows your plant to grow at
a similar rate to if it was planted in the ground. The roots are all
contained within the pot, making it easy to move and keep under control.
Constraining – The pot is too small, often the roots can be seen sticking
out from the sides of the pot. Growth is stunted and there is a chance
that your plant may die.
