Expanding My Garden To The Back Deck | Container Gardening

Hello! My name is Bethany and I grow things in my rooftop container garden in Chicago, zone 6a. I’ve been container gardening for four years and am by no means an expert, just someone who enjoys sharing their garden journey.

In this video, I’m expanding my garden to the back deck by moving plants there that I don’t have space for in my main garden.

  1. Looks more inviting and comfy! Don’t worry about the morning glory being invasive. You have decking not soil. Mine only reseed in my compost 😊— and not invasively. Enjoy!

  2. Uh oh your expanding! Adding plants to that area makes it more cozy and adds interest. I wonder if you could attach the window boxes to the wall that way it would free up floor space.

  3. Hi how do you like your grow bags. Do they hold up well for you.🌾🌿🌱

  4. I think adding plants to the area where you sit with friends is a brilliant idea! The scents of the lavender and basil will be wonderful, and the colors of all the flowers will make that an even more welcoming space to hang out with friends.

  5. This video reminds me that we are hosting an outdoor dinner this weekend and I should tidy up all of my grow bags 😉

  6. I absolutely love your space! And how your using it, I’m also growing fruits and veggies on my balcony, a few flowers as well. I started with house plants. 🤣 I’m so excited for your garden updates. 🌱thanks for sharing. 💚

  7. Looking good Mrs. Greenjeans! I wish I could see my favorite YouTubers gardens in person. But I would need to hit so many different states it would be a full time job. But yours always looks best.

  8. Adding plants to the sitting area is superb idea 🥰
