New Sub-Irrigated Garden Beds: Backyard Garden Update #2

https://wickedhandy.net | So much has happened since our last post in April! We have been able to harvest 11 lbs of produce and are seeing so many of our plants starting to produce, from our watermelons to cucumbers, radishes to tomatoes. 🍅

What we are most excited about is our newest garden bed. While it took a long time to design, the build was pretty easy to put together. It’s 6’x2’ and perfect for the tomatoes, peppers, basil, and lettuce. What makes this bed so special is it’s sub irrigation system that holds 22 gallons of water, perfect for greatly reducing time spent watering while reducing pests and disease! It’s a win win situation for us.

This bed also has fun features like a folding side shelf, easy fill tube, double drainage for overflow, sturdy construction, and more! Want to make this bed? 1. Wow. You are going to share this for free! 🙌🏽, a lot of people do not! You are very kind! 🙏🏽it is beautiful, just one I’ve seen yet.

  2. Absolutely beautiful! It looks great in cedar and I must say the side tray is a great idea. I can see how this will come in handy. Also, thank you so much for sharing your plans for free. I intend on making 2 boxes and wanted to use cedar, but the cost of lumber is ridicules these days and I might have to use pressure treated lumbar instead. I'm shopping around to see if anyone can do better than the Home Depot. Thanks again.
