****** About Living Traditions Homestead ******

Living Traditions Homestead is all about living a simple and sustainable way of life. We believe the world has gotten too “busy” and that people are missing out on many of the true blessings this world has to offer. We started as a small urban homestead in Gilbert, AZ and after the city grew up around us, decided it was time leave corporate America and take a big leap of faith by moving our family to the Missouri Ozarks.

We put out 2 new videos every week! Wednesday and Saturday. We hope you will become part of our homestead family by subscribing to our channel and watching as we give up the rat race and live simpler, more fulfilling life in the country.

  1. During the summer I wouldn't even take the back off I would leave it there and I would just roll up the sides I love your channel 😉

  2. Do you also put extra straw in the hoop coops ? You two are very good animal caregivers. I love watching your videos.

  3. I just put plastic over the area's that I have chicken wire.. that way there is plenty of light.

  4. What did you use for nesting boxes and what do you use for litter in your hoop coops and how do you clean out .. we enjoy your videos all year .. keep them coming .. Merry Christmas

  5. You really should weld up a dolly to pickup and move those garden pots around. It wouldn’t be too difficult

  6. I checked for weather updates here in NW AR this morning and Friday's high is a whopping 8° that's not the wind chill temp either!
Everyone remember to take precautions when you must go out to cover your extremities & bundle up good.

  7. God Bless you and your family! Merry Christmas! I love how you, a Christ centered couple with an amazing love for God and each other, shines through in every video. It is so amazing to watch you two prepare for the change of seasons and care for all the animals. Your winterizations for the chickens n ducks shows that love that and care. The green house winterizing was epic! You are doing the Lord's work and helping His Kingdom. Woot! Oh BTW I am here in West Plains, MO and yep, brrrr chilly.

  8. It's supposed to get down to -4 here in Ohio zone 6B. Pigs will all get extra hay bales in their barn for the next week. Chickens should be fine in their coops totally closed in each night. Don't forget to turn off any water lines that are exposed

  9. 59 years ago in Milwaukee Wisconsin, December 21 was -20 degrees, deep snow all over, & we got married anyway, & I took a city girl to the country. We've always been country people since. We're now in the Missouri Ozarks.

  10. Great tip to use to cover your plants that fabric. I will look for that wire. I don’t grow even in greenhouse in winter, I’m in Minnesota. But could use with plastic in spring to prevent frost on early plants.

  11. You two are good shepherds of your homestead. God bless you both. Merry Christmas. 👩‍🌾♥️🌲

  12. Just love the way you all play poor as you show off all the money you make no jobs yet you bought land a new trailer house 200,000 plus., herd of cattle, pole barn not cheap, etc. all from your youtube channel you frauds.

  13. Just some info I just spent the last week watching the last 3 years of your videos wish I had found you sooner they are great. By the way, it was -30 with a wind chill of -37 today in Manitoba, we have about 18 inches of snow

  14. Are those ladybugs or Asian lady beetles? Asian lady beetles will eat aphids which is nice but they will eat ladybugs and some plants if there isn’t enough else to eat. Ladybugs will move on to other plants to find aphids once they clear your garden. You can tell the difference just by looking as Asian lady beetles have a black W or M (depending which angle you’re looking at) on their head between their eyes and the red shell. I had read this fall that Asian lady beetles also bite (and people can be allergic to the bite) and emit a nasty yellow fluid when smashed or startled, like a stink bug.
The hoop coops look fantastic! Those are on my project list for next spring, for sure! Merry Christmas!

  15. I always enjoy your vids!! You can tell how much time, thought and effort goes into each one. Thank you!!

  16. Are you sure they’re not the Asian beetle that’s an imposter to the classic lady bug? Y’all stay safe and warm! Merry Christmas 🙏🏻✝️🎄

  17. That attachment you use to cut the tin, where did you get it at? That is awesome. Its like battery powered scissors. The chickens will stay nice and cozy when the weather gets bad.

  18. Watching you do seasonal jobs shows me how time flies. I remember you making the wind barriers for the hoop coops. Its good to see how effective they are. Another great video. Merry Christmas to you and your family and to everyone watching the LTH channel.

  19. We moved our homestead from Michigan to the Ozarks because of the cold! Now we're teased that we brought it with us! Stay safe and warm!

  20. I'm watching this from Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada. We are also getting unusual cold -24C is -11F. So cold the snow is crunchy. Stay warm you guys.
