In this video I demonstrate how I protect my exotic tropical border for the forthcoming winter. I have already removed the most tender plants like the #enste ventricosum #maurelii and the ensete hiniba. I’ve also removed the #colocasia metalica.
The colocasia pink china, #tetrapanex rex, cannas, gingers and the #trachycarpus will all be left in situ. They will be covered in a thick #mulch of the plant cuttings, leaves and stems and then covered in a thick mulch of manure. I will put weed fabric over the top. You can also invert a terra cotta pot over plants for additional protection.
