  1. I ordered table pads for my dining room table when we bought it. I used my lace tablecloth that now has at least 30 years on it. I am traditional.

  2. I love all 3 vignettes you showed today, but Linda I have to say your dining room table is my favorite of any you've done.
Maybe it's the nostalgia but I just love it. Especially loved the red pitcher and glasses, the tablecloth, and the centerpiece here.
    Can't wait for the news…!

  3. Let's hear it for Trader Joe's. The cinnamon raisin bread is delicious. And flowers & plants. Your sweater is gorgeous of course. Happy holidays Linda & Stewart.

  4. Just mesmerized by the holiday table decor! Remembering my mother during holidays but when I moved from India, couldn’t carry all her cherished kitchenware. Am glad my two sisters r enjoying it now in New Delhi, India. Happy Holidays to all from me and my family. 🙏🙏🙏🙏

  5. Your creative display Christmas inspired table is getting me nostalgic as well. Being nearly 80 and living alone and very home bound this episode has given me the push I needed to get more in the spirit. My family have others to visit and I have plans to retire early and treat myself to using my antique dinnerware my mom left me. The only time I use it is on a special occasion such as Christmas. My wish for you is to enjoy each blessed moment you have with your loved ones and be happy experiencing those blessings of togetherness. Merry Christmas and an especially healthy and wondrous New Year to you and yours. Love that you share all your beautiful decor and making your viewers feel so welcomed .

  6. Love your table. I do have a quick question. I’ve always been told that the center piece should not impedance the view to other guest. Is this still the case. Thanks

  7. Grew up in the 50s and yes we had a table cloth like that. So wish my moma had kept these. Lovely setting Linda and wishing you all blessings and well being.

  8. Oh Heck I was looking forward to seeing where you got the red sweater!’!! Maybe you will reply?? Thanks so much! Judy pensacola fl

  9. Enjoyed this so much, my mum has a round tablecloth very similar. She still uses it every year – she’s now 85 😊

  10. Lacy plates are also called ribbon plates. It's possible to "thread" a ribbon through the spaces and tie with a small bow. Ribbons can be changed out seasonally.

  11. Your place setting looks beautiful. Simple but eye catching love your finds. Last year I found 8 red champagne glasses used this time of year. One of the wreathes would looks pretty on your cabinet behind the table. The fabric tree is so festive. Thank you for all the pointers! 🎄🌺💚

  12. Linda I didn’t find the link for the candle stick holders you put into your ivy topiary. Can you please share it!?! Thanks

  13. Wow. What a beautiful setting!! ❤🥰❤ have you noticed one of the candle on your left is too close to lampshade?

  14. Thank you for the gift of SO many wonderful ideas, Linda! 🎁 And thank you for sharing so many of your fascinating personal stories❣️💚❤️

  15. My mom always used a silencer on her holiday tables. I think it was because our family was so loud, she thought it would help lower the noise!
    You table looks spectacular!

  16. Many years ago my husband’s parents started giving holiday China place settings for Christmas. I chose Lenox holiday. After the first year I was given this China i started receiving from both sides. serving pieces for anniversary presents. After a decade I have a large amount. I love every piece!!! I bought red damask tablecloths and napkins in multiple sizes from William Sonoma and it is beautiful. Both sides of our parents have passed away and they are thought of every year. I start using them December 1st every year until January 31st in the new year. I always feel really lucky my sister in law had them start this for her and they did it for all children. I think I ended up with 16 pacesetting’s in total with multiple serving pieces.

  17. My sister has the Spode Christmas Tree pattern and she takes it out to use from Thanksgiving Day through New years as her every day china , for the entire season.

  18. Wonderful ideas. Love the ivy topiary's with berries. Varying the elevation of them really adds drama. The replenished arrangement in the footed basket was gorgeous. I remember those stuffed fabric Christmas trees. I think my Mother had one. Lots of nostalgia.

  19. Omg I have that tablecloth it was my
    Mom’s!
It was always a little small for my table and is frayed.
What is that basted to the seat of the chair ????!!!

  20. I am not a gardener, but I am hooked on your lifestyle/homemaking videos. Your home is quite charming, and your Christmas tables are so festive. Best wishes to you & yours for a Happy Christmas & a New Year filled with good health & much joy!

  21. Such an inspiring video. I love your tablescape, all of your tips and the centerpiece arrangements. I love bringing out treasured items that harken back to the past and bring old memories into the present. Merry Christmas to you and your family and Stewart, too!!!

  22. The table is beautiful Linda. I gave all my Christmas dishes to my two daughters to use with their families. Love that the memories of the dinnerware will go in through our family to enjoy. Merry Christmas to you and yours and Stewart and his.

  23. Very elegant Christmas table set and the two plant pots just added more festive decor. Merry Christmas linda 🌲🌲🌲🌹🌹🌹

  24. I love to use tartan plaid in all variations as my table cloth. Red backgrounds, green backgrounds and even ivory with the red and green plaid. Plaid just says christmas to me. Also I am a candle fanatic and burn one or more everyday. At Christmas it looks like a church .. haha. But just love the glow… especially in red or amber glass. Love your mothers red pitcher and glasses. What a Christmas treasure. Clementines with greens are a must in my christmas kitchen too. I was wondering… I notice those tall cylinder glass hurricanes in the brass candle holders on your dining room table.. They always have very tall white tapers in them. When they burn down, do you get black soot on the inside? I have that problem, and I hate it.

  25. Beautiful, elegant and nostalgic setting! I tend to lean towards more vintage than modern table settings so this really spoke to me. I absolutely love decorating and creating tablescapes for holidays bringing out special dishes from loved ones. I believe your red tumblers/pitcher is Anchor Hocking Ruby Red Honeycomb Georgian pattern. How beautiful for Christmas. My favorite item in your decor was the fabric Christmas tree and the backstory of your dear friend Mo. ❤ That melts my heart.

  26. My dear mother has a wonderful vintage tablecloth like that. She's 94 now with Alzheimer's so holidays aren't quite the same, but my memories of past Chrristmas holidays will stay with me forever. Thank you for showing us the beautiful table setting that took me back in time. ❤

  27. I also have those thumbprint glasses in green and red as well as the Christmas Tree Spode dishes which I have collected for nearly 40 years. I use traditional and vintage linens. This year I decided to give friends and godchildren tablecloths that fit their tables since I only have a round table and don't use the others. I also decided to give a six place setting of my Spode to a cousin who also collects it and whose family has grown a bit with all three kids being married. I feel like sharing my lovelies with those I love now when they can use and appreciate them is a gift for both of us.😇 Love your ideas. May need to rewind and watch, again.🌲

  28. Oh, Linda, I have enjoyed this video so much! I haven't had time to watch this week, so this one is especially satisfying. Merry Christmas!!!

  29. In the UK we call those plates ribbon plates, the idea being to weave ribbon through the holes😉

  30. I think the little tree from your friend Mo put me over the edge with a Christmas tear for those we love who are not here with us.

  31. making money is an action. keeping money is a behaviour, but "growing money is wisdom" i heard this from someone☺
