Growing Peppers In Buckets | Container Gardening

Growing peppers in buckets is one way to expand your container gardening skills. Our bucket garden gives us one more way to grow vegetables, and gives us control over the soil and the amendments we use. Our container gardening secret super soil mix is what we use in a pepper bucket and many of our other container garden vegetable buckets. They are drilled for drainage, but in a way that allows also for use as self wicking buckets or self watering buckets. In the past, we have typically grown peppers from seedling pepper plants. Today, we will be planting store bought pepper plants that are wind damaged and require pruning. This is close to how we normally do it, so we are willing to dive into this growing experiment… Come along !

Probably in a better place now. R.I.P. Jiminy!!!

  2. I’m loving the bucket gardening videos! They are so helpful! Tina is beautiful inside and out – even with the wind!

  3. I stuck an onion top in the dirt a month ago and I have a green onion sprout about 4" no Tulips bloom in yet there out there but refuse to open, I guess I better get there sweaters out lol!
    JO JO IN VT 💕😄

  4. Thank you for this. Giving my nephew jalapeno and tomato plants in buckets now😁 his dad said he's not going to mess up their yard with a garden because he's OCD when it comes to mowing in straight lines😂 they have the perfect place on their drive for the buckets. Gotta Love the in-laws 😂😂😂 thanks for sharing and Tina's hair looks great even wind blown lol. ❤❤❤

  5. Slugs are funny creatures. We were living in and renovating our first home together that we lived in for 19 years and slugs were bad there…one crawled in my daughters bedroom and onto her pillow when she turned off the light and lay down, her cheek hit that slimy thing on her pillow and you never heard such a scream. Needless to say hers was the next room we renovated, starting with pulling out the old floor and putting in a new one. Lol Yup, I planted peppers in a bucket but straight from seed….nothing yet. The will be miniature ones if they grow. Wish me luck.

  6. Just got done at 8 pm planting bell peppers and lots of hot peppers most planted in the ground but I ran out of ground and planted 52 out of 241 in buckets either way it's work. I keep saying I'm to old for all this work but I do enjoy it and everyone else enjoy eating the veg. You two make a great team.

  7. She is sporting the wind blown/hard worker look. She doesn’t have a hat on to hide her hair.🙏🇱🇷🐝😂😂

  8. I’m a big fan of container gardening, so these buckets are right up my alley! Love it!
Best line….we’re not going to bulb these out, or even imagine they will 😂😂

  9. I love your videos I am learning a lot about gardening. I live on a small lot that doesn’t have a lot of room to plant orange lemon or avocado trees I’m wondering if you can do a video on planting these types of trees 🌲 n containers so I can get the fruit without having a huge tree on my lot, thanks

  10. We are going to bucket planting this year and like the idea of not wasting space with adding onions in the bucket. Also, didn't know to cut off possible leaves at the base of the plant. Thank you, Mark and Tina!! Love you guys!!

  11. You guys are inspiring me to get going this year. I always thought our small lot was not big enough, but container gardening is where I’m headed this year. I’ve started inside with an AeroGarden for tomatoes and herbs. Next week I plan on planting larger tomatoes, sweet peppers, onions and maybe garlic or carrots in containers.

  12. Sorry I did have a question about the peppers. I want to raise the smaller sweet peppers (red, Orange, yellow). Do these smaller varieties thrive in buckets as well?

  13. Great video hopefully I can do some pepper videos soon on my channel thank for sharing some great content

  14. Still haven't planned anything here in Oregon. But I've got several tubs from cattle licks about twenty gallons or so. I have a regular area for my garden but it's a little wet. That's a good idea and I can get some things growing here‼️ Thanks as always for sharing‼️👍🏻👍🏻❤️

  15. Y’all are too funny with each other. Love the idea of popping those little onions around the edge of bucket. How cool is that! Did not know Epsom salt deters slugs. Thank you. Thank you.

  16. Sure is a good video. I got some pepper plants in 5 gallon buckets. They grow just as good in a bucket. Going to try some bell pepper plants this year. Growing the plant is easy but they don't grow pepper pods very good. This year got them in partly sunny spot. Have a great weekend.

  17. Tina you always look wonderful whether its wind blown garden look to neat and set chat look and everything in between… each are all just a different kind of beautiful 😄
    Have a good day 🌻🌻🌻

  18. Hello Mark and Tina hope y'all are doing well. Loving the bucket series, don't worry Tina you have are beautiful. Stay safe sending prayers 🙏 and God's blessings. Much love and big tx hugs from South Tx.

  19. Tina, don't apologize for your hair! It's very pretty. Also, I hope you put sunscreen on every day. Both of you. Great video, as always😊

  20. Y'all are the cutest a swear. That subscribe screen cracked me up i had to read it to my hubby. Lol

  21. Tina is always cute, even with windblown hair. I used to grow bell peppers, if I didn’t grow anything else. I would chop them & put them in the freezer. I usually had enough to last me till the next year. Love & Hugs from Vicki in Ft. Worth, Texas 🇨🇱🇺🇸👍❤️🥰🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

  22. Hahaha, Mrs Tina is a natural beauty, windblown hair and all. Thanks for the fun and informative video. God bless you.
