BATTERY CONSTRUCTION TOOLS – The end of Petrol? Never knew these existed!

In October we were invited to the Speedy Expo to take a look at what tools were available to hire on our future projects. With lots of indoor work we were keen to see what alternatives there are to the 2 stroke tools we have.

  1. back in 1983, I purchased 2 hitachi cordless drills,, somthing like 7 v, costing £50 each, that was a game changer for me, as a roofer, it was great using them, rather than a stanley hand drill.😊

  2. Such a interesting topic i work in oil & gas and for me there will always be the need for petrol, all the lithium is not the best to excavate. Catch 22 but i love how you will put the tools through its paces!!

  3. Excellent video, I liked the XGT. I was talking to a lady gardener who had just purchased a new hedge trimming head for her Stihl combo, couldn’t believe the cost.

  4. Great info and interesting look at technology! i am going to totally honest here!.. after the last couple of years! people need to start questioning things more, like the science and who is funding it!.. i mean look at Switzerland's recent ban on charging electric vehicles! due to power shortages!.. and it is coming to light that it takes 8 x the diesel to remove minerals for a Tesla, Than it would use if it were diesel… in it's lifetime.. and realistically is Carbon tax just another Tax for a failing government to rob future generations.. and are the people wanting these changes really setting the best example! look at he G7 barbeque in 2020 St Ives.. leaders flew from all over the planet,, while many worked from home, used more fuel than most would in a life time!.. and there are other technologies out there like hydrogen!.. and just youtube chinese diesel heater!.. strange because of the price of fuel, so may are heating their homes now.. with these units!.. we are truely at a cross roads, and who politically is influenced by Klaus swhabb???…

  5. If you can get them to give you the tools as a sponsor deal ideal, but if I paying for them id buy second hand petrol versions no waiting for them to charge and you will probably buy everything you need for a third of the cost of the battery version plus you can pretty much repair everything on a petrol engine unit.

  6. If you were still hiring from alide, you could of gone with Hilti, their new battery kit is very good indeed.

  7. i bought a ¼ acre section a year ago and went the battery way for lawn mower. powered by 2 x 18v batteries. initially took 4 batteries to mow lawns until spring time & grass growth = too much for lawnmower. went back to petrol as battery could not cope

  8. I have quite a few of the Makita 18v tools and they are brilliant. Powerful and long battery life. Even work well with strimmer and hedge cutter, so I don't think I'll be changing to a new battery platform any time soon.

  9. I bet you felt like a kid in a sweet shop 🤣🤣

Hope you treated your wife to a lovely meal after your fun time.

    Great video once again 😁

  10. We have a battery lawnmower, snow blower, hedger, blower and edger.
I was pleasantly surprised when we had some tree work done and they arrived with Husqvarna chain saws. They worked great!

  11. Great you are getting more tools to make life much easier.
You are now involved with lots of major construction projects, Robin Clevett mainly uses Milwaukee
The final step, on the journey is normally Festools 🙂 Enjoy ! Christmas came early !

  12. Hi guys enjoying your contents I hope you enjoyed your time in my home town of liverpool cheers keep up the good work from big bad bazz ps give me a shout out 😂

  13. Looking forward to these tools replacing old kit everywhere, the fumes off fossil powered things are horrible to be around. And I mean just being near a construction site, never mind working on one!

  14. 2:23 MX fuel, zero emissions. Got to love the marketing on that one, colour pencils on over time. Maybe at the point of use. Unless you charge it via the solar panels on your van calling rubbish on that.
Dead dinosaurs (fossil fuels) can’t be used forever but batteries like this are just green washing. State sponsored BTW. How long ago were governments encouraging diesel vehicles?

  15. Replaced my petrol gardening equipment two years ago with battery products, charge off my solar and never looked back

  16. "No emissions" (apart from the ecological impact of mining, transporting heavier items, generating the electricity, etc..)

  17. With all the Battery options they should have a Belt version and flexible leed so tool weight is kept to a minimum.
A blank plate in place of battery on tool with a plug connect would make it an if needed option for a variety of tools.
Might also be a way of utilising different branded batteries instead of 2-3 chargers.

  18. All my work tools now are Makita 18v, even my dual battery lawnmower and pole trimmer. I've thrashed the life out of my four 4AH batteries. Even after those countless re-charge cycles thay are still holding up.

  19. Milwaukee did not tell you the actual run time on any of there products ??????????????????

  20. Hit 120k today. Thank you for all the knowledge and nuggets you had thrown my way over the last months, Started with 14k in January 2022

  21. Battery technology is where the next big steps will be made in the next 20 years. Not just tools but home storage too. Photovoltaic cells on the roof and a battery storage inside and you've got all the power you need. But we need something better than lithium, as it's limited, polluting, not recyclable enough and not energy dense enough. Perhaps in the long term we can store the same power in an AA-sized battery I think

  22. Smart tools that know what you are doing and data sent to the cloud, what could go wrong?
