When Arlo said hell I flinched a little
4 hours!? Dude I could beat Pikmin in that time. I might even be able to 100% it.
– hooray! giant review, Arlo gushing over Pikmin is always a joy
– i love how many of the Dolphin parts basically boild down to "look, we both they're not that needed but Olimar paid way too much money to come back to Hocotate empty handed"
– well is less of a Spoiler & more of a "look what enemies you missed" teaser since it shows up at the end of the game
– ok now i understand why the Smokey Prog is the first Spirit you fight in Smash

It’s hard to imagine that Arlo was ever a tiny monster. I always think of him as this full grown, man-sized, hulking blue creature. But of course he was tiny once. A monster still (who loved video games) but small all the same.

I think one of the greatest accomplishments that Pikmin 1 achieved is that it truly makes you feel bad if every 1 pikmin dies. I know it’s possible to do a deathless run but for most people, you most sacrifice some of those little cute guys to accomplish your mission. So often, death is seen as this shrug of the shoulders moment in video games. But somehow, this weird little game by Nintendo made the concept of sacrifice very impactful.
Wow I didn't even know the og pikman was a launch title and it was one of only 3! Pikman 1 was one of fav games on the console , although I never really kept up with the series for whatever reason but yeah age wise I was the perfect age for the GameCube, old enough to where I could actually understand the game mechanics and fully beat games I started but young enough to have an unbridled enthusiasm with how I played them, pouring myself into them and really letting the worlds engross me In, Pikman paper Mario animal crossing I even started to drift into the more mature content like metroid prime and even resident evil 4 (did not finish it)
What's so great thou is I still have most of original GameCube games with there boxes and everything and still there between wind water and sonic adventure 2 is pikman

2:44:43 i think the wolliwog rant helped me realize that the “missing secondary feature” for blue pikmin should be like. a hardened carapace or some way to describe an inability to be crushed. if blue pikmin had this ability, they’d be like how red pikmin are for firey blowhogs
