This week brings and extra special 2022 Quilt project! I was invited by Sheri McGill of Lessons Learnt to participate in this collaboration with 2 other quilters. We used the “Not Your Mama’s Garden” fabrics by the Sew Yeah Brothers and the Patio Quilt pattern by Happy Zombie, and the twist was each of us selected a different sashing color. Stephanie of Stephanie’s Stitches and Jamie from the Quilting Compound also joined in on the fun!

Hi 👋 Emily, I just subscribed to You through Stephanie and I have to say I think Your color for the sashing did justice not only for the NYMG fabric but it represents a Patio as the name of the pattern suggests, Beautifully! Great Job and I love 💕 the choice for the Quilting also! I am definitely going to be watching your previous videos in order to get to know You and Your Creativity much better! Wonderful fabric, and I like the dark background. I didn't know about it at first, but it is really nice. Trixie is such a great quilt tester.
I opened all the videos and stopped them at the finished quilt. I love yours the most. The others are great also, but you are right, the dark tones the prints down nicely! Love the idea of collab method. Hope you all do it again.

I came across Sew Yeah early in the pandemic. Then found out they are in Vegas like me which was awesome. They are awesome just love them
Your quilt is the last one….and I saved the BEST for last! I love, love, LOVE it! The colors are soooo me, you did AWESOME, loved the quilting as well. I have a little doge that helps me quilt just as your cat helped you, so much fun to share our hobbies with the ones that love being around us most!💕
While these prints don’t usually “float and my boat” they did blend very well in this quilt. I think the gray sashing was the perfect choice/color setting for those splashes/blocks of color. Well done!

Trixie is hilarious! I cut my quilts out on the floor too but I find it easier to lay cutting mats down and use a ruler and a rotary cutter.

I’ve looked at the other quilts and I enjoy your choice of sashing the most. It allows me to appreciate the colors and prints without the distraction of clashing borders. And the addition of the plush backing ensures it will be well loved and well used. Thanks for sharing.
