We feel like we’ve winter proofed this bus to withstand the -30 degree temperatures that we’ll encounter on this trip – This IS the ultimate winterised van and we cannot wait to experience van life Norway after spending SO long on the van renovation! Fingers crossed this is Custard’s final van build.

    Craig, have you ever tried putting snow chains on in freezing conditions? It's a ruddy bloody nightmare. You can't do it with gloves as it's too fiddly, but you can only put them on when needed, when it's not easy conditions. And I've never tried on a big van with 6 wheels. If you mess it up they wrap around the axle and things can get really bad. In Norway we avoid them except in extreme conditions, but we have winter tyres fitted on all cars for winter months. There's 2 types: the general winter tyre that lets you get around in icy conditions, and the more hardcore studded tyre. Do Custard has tyres with a deeper than 5mm tread at the moment? If she does then you should be okay.

    Very entertaining, the wife and kids have been living in the Outer Hebrides in our motorhome during this winter and has struggled, not easy, enjoy….by the way, don't think you'll be needing the surf board!

    Don't drive with your vent cover on the front. Your engine and radiator etc need the air flow in there to prevent engine catching on fire
