  1. It is funny how George Martin's idea of what an architect does is completely detached from reality. As a "real" architect (one that designs buildings not computer systems) I have to say that George Martin has absolutely no idea how an architect actually works and also doesn't seem to know what an architect does. The blueprint is the outcome of the architect’s work and so is the writer manuscript. The architect does not build the buildings and the writer does not print the books. Hence, for this metaphor to be true the work of an architect would be to plan the plan.
