❄ Winter Fairy Garden 2022 | Amaryllis & Paperwhite UPDATE | Winter Houseplants | Fairy Garden Ideas

An update on my CHEAP amaryllis and paperwhites! Link to the original amaryllis and paperwhites planting video below.

With the holidays quickly approaching and more rain than usual, I was really craving the opportunity to dig my hands into some dirt. I’ve always loved creating fairy gardens as they really make you think out of the box. This seemed like the perfect time of year to create a beautiful winter fairy garden.

  1. I got a 3 pack of amaryllis wax dipped on clearance at Costco last year. They started at $30 and then got reduced and reduced.

  2. The fairy garden is adorable!! Love that you glued the lights on!! So creative!! Hope its ok…. I shared this video on my FB page.

  3. The smile on your face when you were finished said it all!!! It's so satisfying when an idea comes together and you just step back and say, "I did that!!!"
I'm incredibly jealous of your amaryllis. I tried the whole "winter them over" in the basement thing and planted them about 3 weeks ago. Out of 4 bulbs, which all had really nice-looking roots, only one so far has even sprouted, and that's only leaves so far. If they do nothing this year, I may scrap the whole idea and just go for trying to force tulips or hyacinths for late winter indoor color.

  4. Beautiful! For the gardeners who don't want to pot up amaryllis, check Costco. My local Costco was selling 3 amaryllis bulbs dipped in wax, silver or gold, for $24. I thought that was a great price. Easy-peasy. I planted 6 amaryllis bulbs and we are looking forward to beautiful blooms this winter.

  5. With some amaryllis bulbs some are late blooming while others are early to mid blooming. But they do look good. The fairy garden looks gorgeous. Enjoy everything you took us on and looking forward to seeing the updates on the bulbs.

  6. You nailed it! Charming fairy garden! and you can keep this from now throughout the winter season. Maybe just tweak it with some valentine items in February, and you’ll have a project done in a snap.
