  1. That seems to be a common problem with luxury homes of that era. Just like with the Titanic, they weren't just boasting about the size of their wealth, but they were very preoccupied with the speed with which that much money could get things done. They were really trying to send a message with having it built in 18 months. It seems that a little bit of humility as opposed to hubris would have gonna a long way. A great lack of respect for things like time and the materials they were working with proved to be powerful enough to have taught humanity quite the lesson in the end.
