December Cottage Garden – Christmas Trees and Putting the Garden to Bed

Welcome back to our cottage garden. Somehow it’s December already, so it’s time to start tidying up and putting the garden to bed. Join us for a tour of the garden and a look at our Christmas tree, then we will get cleaning the greenhouses and making leaf mulch directly on the beds.

  1. Thank you for this video and all the beauty . Your garden looks beautiful and inspiring . Can a garden be considered charming ? If so , it is . Where I live it's like summer , autumn , winter , and spring all blooming at once . Odd . I long for a return to an actual winter season .

  2. We have two feet of snow where I live, and I had to put our garden to bed in early November (and didn't quite finish before everything froze…my crocus bulbs arrived when the ground was already frozen solid…also, I blame/credit you for my trying to start a crocus lawn…so excited). My point is…I am totally living vicariously through these videos – so soothing and inspiring all at once. Thank you!

  3. Oh thats a great idea to clean your polytunnel. I must see if I can get a squeegee like yours. Thanks for sharing. Love the Christmas tree.

  4. I so enjoy your home and garden tours. The Christmas tree looks lovely. I think the shrub is a hypericum so a member of the St John's wort family

  5. A lovely vlog thank you. You encouraged me to go in the garden and tidy up! Love to know what ideas you have for the use of the pretty summerhouse too.

  7. Love the Christmas tree! 🤩 And the delphinium is so unexpected and lovely! Mine soooo nearly got another flush of flowers before the frost got to them – maybe next year! Thanks for the video tour!!

  8. Would you do a video on beginners plants tricks and tips?

  9. The garden tour was amazing. I started to watch earlier this morning. Was in the beginning and had to do something. I tried to find it for a long time this afternoon. I am such a sleuth, I found your lovely video. The tree is fantastic. We had 5 big live oaks behind our house. We would blow the leaves all around behind them. They grew nice and strong..

  10. Your Christmas tree is lovely. Are the lights already on it, it looks like it just opens like an umbrella.? Love the Clematis, I have a nice lattice area they would be lovely growing, Delphinium were my mom's favorite flower. From the shore of Maryland here in the states, hope you guys have a wonderful, peaceful weekend.
