  1. Are paperwhites an annual or can we plant outside once it’s done flowering inside ?

  2. that small city lot of yours is impressive at eye level but wow, the drone view really gives an excellent idea of the variety and number of plants you have at your place Jim. Really impressive sir.👍👍

  3. Do you enjoy gardening in a smaller area and creating an oasis? So many of us do not have a large area.

  4. 8B here (western Washington – south Puget Sound) multiple snow events and snow on the ground for the last 7+ days – untouched snow may be gone tonight or sometime tomorrow. I haven't had to rake anything in over a week.😉 Japanese maple dropped it's leaves in late November, the azealas just dropped their leaves and rhodies have gone into their leaves down, protective mode. Hard to believe that we are only 1 zone (and a good 45 days of season) apart. Thank you for all the valuable information you provide (you too Steph.)

  5. Cool how your leaves drop mostly straight down. Mine do that for the most part out back. Out front they dropped off the trees, in 46mph gusts, and got thrown down the hill like 7 houses down. Today I'm going to make some trips down there to get them back 😂

  6. Hi Jim. Just yesterday I walked around my landscape and said it’s time to let go for the winter. Thank you for confirming that. We all need a rest. I do have a question that relates to late winter/spring. I am confused about when to add my mulch. Some people say you should let the soil warm and then there’s the issue of covering plants that haven’t broken dormancy yet. Do you have thoughts/advice on this? I love your channel and am giving myself a gift to join it next year. 😀🌷

  7. Shouldn’t leaves be shredded for mulch ? In my experience leaves don’t break down over the winter, just get slimy and bring slugs in the spring. Then it’s a big mess to clean up to add mulch. I guess your gonna tell me to mulch over the large packed leaves 😬

  8. I also have potted amaryllis bulbs which I hold in my outdoor tool shed until later in December and early January, and then bring them inside my home, where they will bloom in late January and early February, to banish the winter blues! 🙂 Some of them were passalong plants from my mother.

  9. Hello 👋 Jim and Stephany and all the gardeners frainds I hoped you all injoi the break time from heat in the summer. To a cool fresh air that gives to us by nature. Thank Jim for showing us a restful garden 🙏

  10. Just repotted my bulbs this week. Keep them in the garage before. One had already started to show its green leaf This is the 3 year of the same color blends bulbs Helps me get thru the lone gray winter (zone 5 ) indiana

  11. I always get ugly carrots they will be a good 8-12 long but they always have several “arms and nubs” and I usually forget to thin on time which reduces the quantities of actual good cooking and cutting ones

  12. I love leaving my perennials up until spring clean up. Also love leaving my leaves as mulch. Best garden advice I got early on. I’m also much more motivated to be outside in the spring than I am in our cold, wet zone 6 fall and early winter. The garden, wildlife and my energy are all the better for it!

  13. “The gift of anticipation.” I love that! 😊 And what great neighbors you are! Have a blessed holiday season.

  14. I love the plant knowledge combined with compassionate approach to preserving wildlife, pollinators and little critters in your gardening channel!

  15. So with the amaryllis, do you keep watering it as the soil dries out or do you water once and then wait until you see green growth before you water again?
