Join me as I sit down with my Dad to talk about his roots in gardening and discuss recommendations for new gardeners. Hear how this North Carolina gardener grew up in a self sustaining orphanage before moving on to live and garden in several states. He’s been a huge influence in my gardening life; inspiring, informing and elevating me along the way.
Now get growing!

Great use of pictures to support the story ! I didn’t know you had all those. You represent me better than I represent myself.
I know it’s not about me, it’s about gardening, and you are doing a good job telling people about it.
Great video Scott and Dad, you are almost as natural as Thomas when talking in camera!
I love, love, love this story. I always say I didn't inherit my mother's "green thumb" (she had a beautiful, beautiful garden) and so I have never really tried to grow anything. Listening to your dad's story has me inspired to try again, in her memory, and to possibly pass on this love and respect of the earth to my daughter. Thanks Scott, for carrying on your dad's legacy, and starting such a beautiful, important project of sharing this love with the world.
Great video, Scott. Didn't realize your green thumb ran in the family.
