A few folk have asked about the equipment I use to record my videos and how I get the buttery smooth shots – I’d like to say it’s me but alas it’s not me – it’s the equipment.

Below is what I use:

Main Camera: Panasonic HC-VX1 4K: https://amzn.to/2RHRJAo This never lets you down and produces great wide stunning shots in 4K

Second Camera: GoPro Hero Black 7: https://amzn.to/2PufdHg This IS THE camera if you have an allotment. It is by far the best and easiest to use – video is stunning!!!

Third Camera: Note 9: https://amzn.to/2L588MV If I have no camera and need video… this is a great video caperture phone – 4K is stunning.

Main Mic: RØDE VideoMic Pro+ Microphone – Black: https://amzn.to/2PsuTe2 The quality is unmatched.

Second Mic: Rode Smartlav+ Lavalier Microphone: https://amzn.to/2L3DBPq Back up if the wind is too great

Indoor Mic: PR 40: https://amzn.to/2PrZI2F Omph – if you are going into this for real – audio is even more important that video. This mic is a dream sound.

27” iMac: https://amzn.to/2B1VVE6 I have used Macs all my life – not one has let me down. Rock solid with rock solid software. I use Apple’s Final Cut Pro

Main Tripod: K & F Concept Tripod: https://amzn.to/2L3HKmw I have tried all so many tripods some way way more expensive. This one is great, lightweight… but opens tall enough to still get me in the shot and I am 6” 4”!

Second Tripod (for GoPro Hero 7) Joby GorillaPod SLR-Zoom: https://amzn.to/2L5vRMS This is the idea tripod when in allotment as you can stick it anywhere and record great shots

Light: Neewer 176 LED 5600K: https://amzn.to/2B5Dy0U I use this all the time now great for dull days (we get lots of those).

  1. Don't like potatoes!?!?!? Why did you marry!?!?!? 🤣 Well, you have a decent few meals there. Be interesting to see how the others do. 😊

  2. Fresh potatoes, grown yourself tastes so much better than the shop ones. I was going to say you had forgotten your kneeling pad and you beat me to it.
(Keep your mouth shut Alan, he knows what he is doing.)

  3. I only have a few borders and a greenhouse but I'm gonna follow your lead and try growing some in pots…Always room for pots! Love your down to earth videos no messing and a few laughs, great on a cold drab day.

  4. I wouldn’t have said the pots were to big. I plan on planting mine in my half a barrel planters I’ve made in the spring. Good upload as always.

  5. im looking forward to planting my potatoes as im new to gardening ive already got myself a allotment but im going grow them in buckets do you think they be ok ln 12L Buckets has its just for myself please let me knew and happy yule to you and family

  6. I planted mine on the same date and lost them to the frost a couple of weeks ago. I put 2 seed potatoes in each 40L tub, except one tub had 3 so I did a little comparison when I harvested them and I got exactly the same weight out of a tub with 2 seed potatoes as the tub with 3 potatoes. The only difference was the tub with 2 in had much bigger potatoes to harvest, whereas the one with 3 had lots of little ones. Not really scientific but I'll only be putting 2 in all my tubs next year 😉

  7. Im beginning to think spuds aren't worth the trouble, I might just grow early next year, and couple of bags or carpo Mira

  8. I do believe your family will like charlottes. You really are doing well out of such a late planting, perfect for Christmas dinner, oh and cut the Brussel sprouts in half and you can cook them mushy but still green.

  9. Hate to tell you, mate, but I was par boiling spuds before roasting them well before Jamie Oliver was born. Love your videos, and always look forward to what fun you're going to get up to next.

  10. I think that's a darned good haul..wish I'd have had that many after I lost mine to frost..washed boiled and eaten with lashings of real butter, lovely jubbly

  11. For only three months growing time, with the last 1/3 or so with less light and cooler temperatures, that seems like a pretty reasonable yield, certainly nothing to be ashamed of. I do question your choice of wife and children, however.

  12. Hi mate, not a bad haul. It’s definitely difficult to get spuds of a decent size at this time of year. The frost or blight tend to get them before thy get big. Take care. Nick

  13. Nice size spuds there. i had grown some Charlotte in a 30L container which came out really good. Charlotte are a Salad Potato so they shouldn't be whopping ones anyway, you sounded peeved that you had some small spuds? Enjoyed your videos, a New Subscriber now.

  14. You have quite a garden there. I like the beds and polytunnels. The soil looks very dark and rich. I will have to try growing potatoes in pots. Thanks for sharing. Now, I have to get back to StarShip Sofa.

  15. Mashed, smashed, fried, soup, roasted, steamed, grilled… Never met a potatoe I didn't like😄 Great little harvest right there!

  16. Fried potatoes and onions…yum! Green beans, potatoes and some pork…yum! Baked potato slathered in butter…yum! I can't believe your wife doesn't like potatoes!
