Smith tried to get cute and called the game like he was playing Madden. The time that they needed Mariota to win the game the only way he could they didn't let him
Give Smith&Co a chance I say. He has only been here a little over 1.5yrs. I am sick of the "bench him and fire him" mantra. You don't hear it around the league with other teams that are struggling like you do with my beloved Falcons. Have some faith and patience. Smith&Co aren't going anywhere so maybe some "fans"need to find another team to put down&criticize!
Arthur smith should not have called a pass play on 2nd down, Washington had no timeouts, Falcons had all of theirs. Even if it was a touchdown, plenty of time for them to go get a FG to win.

I am still so mad at this game yesterday man. I mean how is it that we were already in FG range with 4 potential attempts to get a TD and then decide to use a pass play instead of running the ball to Patterson or Allegeier? That was the stupidest move to make and ruined our chances to tie and win while preventing Washington from scoring.
We should be #1 in the league for rushing right now hands down.
I think we need a better connection, Mariota doesn’t know his receivers because we never pass he can’t get better without passing
running wide or passing with a running team never goes well — ram if off tackle or between the guard and tackle.
They play the Black QBS tough if you don't believe me look at all the scores against the other quarterbacks all the white quarterbacks they've lost all those games, Brady, Herbert, Borrow, Heineke, pay attention. True.
