The stunning Chinese dogwood, Cornus kousa var. chinensis, fills the garden with cascading white flowers in spring. Typically covered in white star-shaped flowers in May, it’s great planted at the bottom of a hill or on a slope where it can be looked down upon (the flowers grow on the top side of the branches). Plus, it’s rather disease resistant. Photo by @richardbloomphoto
