  1. no need to apologize for the background feline commentary as the resident Meow Meow often supervises your creative endeavors it is only fitting that they do so

  2. I like the Caran D’ache pan gouache too. I have other tube gouache and I’ve heard people disparage it but I really like it. I bought a stash of the Neocolor I and am just getting into them. They are lovely.

  3. Cannot wait to try some of these supplies in the years to come. Trying to upgrade my current supplies first. Particularly looking forward to the Neocolour I's, the Royal Talens Gouache, and a small set or a few of the open stock Pitt Brush markers.

  4. Okay, those watercolours seem like The SET to get if I ever decide to buy a set for plein air painting.

  5. My favourite art supplies this year:
    1. Oil pastels – I just keep coming back to them for ease of set-up, clean-up, and quicker coverage.
    2. Clear Gesso – I tried using clear gesso to prime my pastel papers for my oil pastels this year and it has made a huge difference in what I am able to achieve. I can't go back.
    3. Coloured Pencils – I've been using these for sketches and colour studies more and more and I'm getting really excited about using them.
    4. Water-Based Markers – I've just been enjoying using these in my sketchbook and figuring out the possibilities for more linear art processes with them.
    5. My sketchbook – I've really gotten into using my sketchbook more this year, particularly for brainstorming ideas and it has been a great experience.

  6. Hi Shana, Great video! Just curious–Do you prefer the Neo 1's over the Neo 2's? Since the Neo 2's can be blended with water and you don't need to use solvent, I always think of that as an advantage. But are there advantages to the 1's over the 2's?

  7. I’m really loving working with gouache but still struggling with watercolor lol! Lots of goodies in your top 10, enjoyed watching!

  8. That's so nice Shana! Well, I have to say that the Carandache Neo Color I is on my wish list, I would love to complement them with colored pencils, the Carandache Neo Color II is also on my mind. The Chinese ink pens FCs are very curious, I didn't know about them, thanks for mentioning them. And I already ordered the FC Pitt Matt graphite, and also the Staedtler Lumograph Mars Black, which I want to try. It's all very interesting Shana! I liked the gouaches too. I wanted to ask you if you have tried the St. Petersburg watercolors? and Daniel Smith? They are very good, I recommend them. Daniel Smith's watercolors are kind of thick, and they last a long time, I also like them because they are grainy, they give a beautiful touch!!! St. Petersburg watercolors are not that easy to get in the US. You have to buy them through eBay. Thank you so much Shana for another great video!!!😁❤️😁❤️😁❤️😁❤️🤗

  9. Wow. I'm way behind on my shopping. Great video . There are a number of items you have now inspired me to buy . Thank You so much!

  10. I’m glad you mentioned the Caran d’Ache gouache palette as I was considering to put it on my Christmas list for relatives whi asked what I wanted 😊 I love gouache but I find I waste so much paint with tubes and they don’t dry nicely like watercolours, so maybe this could be a solution.
I got back to fineliners actually as I started Zentangle, which I find very relaxing. So my favourite art supply list would definitely contain fineliners of various nib sizes. Those in combination with watercolours, where I experimented with limited palettes. And my colour pencils of course, the list is long!! 😂

  11. I’m rather new to your channel and I am subscribed and have the bell notifications turned on. I enjoy adult coloring books. I use coloring pencils as my main medium. I just wanted to say keep up the amazing content! Thank you for the hard work and dedication that you put into your channel. I’ve learned so much from you. I’m not a real artist but I do enjoy adult coloring. I use Neocolors II in some of my adult coloring books in backgrounds and I enjoy them very much. I’m going to try watercolor in the very near future. Thank you for the inspiration! Oh and no need to apologize for the kitty. I’m blessed to be owned by one too!🤣🐱🎨👩🏼‍🎨💕🎨🖌

  12. I love the hoodie your wearing. Where did you get it from? I’m only a couple minutes in so will comment again in a bit 😂💖

  13. I really love that faber-castell keeps their colors consistent across media. However, i bought some Derwent pencils this year, color, watercolor, inktense and graphite and im so in love with the feel of them when i use them.

  14. You need to try POSCA acrylic paint pens there honestly the best on the market and the best for opacity and they have a huge range of nib sizes.

  15. So nice to see all your items that you 've liked the most!! The talens gouache is one of my favorites as well (because it's easy to find here in the Netherlands) those charcoal pencils suprised me and I'll look at them later!!

  16. Enjoyed video watched it twice could you do a review of the canson art boards and the ecaustic paper/ boards id like to try them but have never have chance to purschase them to use with my art suppies i have small set of pitt pens fabrell castell and smalk set of their colored pencils. 17. I've had the pitt markers for about 20 years and they are still as bright, vibrant and wet as the day I bought them. Only one has run out of color. Totally worth the money.

  18. Top 10 art supplies? More like “Terrific visual surprise(s)!” Thanks for sharing 👍
