From Santa Monica Studio comes the sequel to the critically acclaimed God of War (2018). Fimbulwinter is well underway. Kratos and Atreus must journey to each of the Nine Realms in search of answers as Asgardian forces prepare for a prophesied battle that will end the world. Along the way they will explore stunning, mythical landscapes, and face fearsome enemies in the form of Norse gods and monsters. The threat of Ragnarök grows ever closer. Kratos and Atreus must choose between their own safety and the safety of the realms. 1. It's quite unusual for this game to have missable dialogue.
Freeing the wolf interrupted the dialogue, and I don't think it will resume, like some do.

  2. When Jarard makes the completionist episode. Jessie should be in it with the marvel Loki Costume and have them play off Jessie being a goofy goof.

  3. Atreus – "I gotta protect father, without him finding out about Ironwood…"
Also Atreus – alludes that he knows about the part of the prophecy Kratos kept from him

  4. I'm confused. Angraboda says she can't go with Atreus because she's not in the murals, which means she either dies beforehand or chooses not to help. Here Atreus uses that same logic to say that he can't be killed by her grandma, but now that's not how it works. Which is it? Is everything predetermined because of her murals or is the future always in motion and anything can happen?

  5. Early on the previous game I was hoping that perhaps Freya could become Atreus' new Mom of War.
I never found it to be particularly likely, but it was a thought, that eventually became even more unlikely.
Now, it seems that the likelihood increased somewhat.
Still very unlikely, sure, but a man can dream.

  6. I noticed that in the prophecy drawing with Kratos dying in it and Boy joining Odin, there's a giant standing behind the city of Asgard. They cleverly conceal it by having the cloth over the painting, or in cutscenes, having Angrboda stand in front of it.

  7. These adventures with various characters are lovely.
It's like having an interchangeable adventuring party.
If we end up controlling someone else besides Dad or Boy I will at this point only be mildly surprised.

  8. I say it every episode, but thank you for more awesome content! This game is amazing, and I really love watching Jirard and Jesse play it!

  9. Ah, yes. Three famous people of Greek mythology; Hercules, Icarus and Archimedes.
Icarus is indeed from Greek myth. Hercules is Roman myth though. Although the Greek original was Heracles, so that's a quite understandable mistake.
Archimedes, though, was a real Greek mathematician.

  10. Did Mimir just flirt with Brok?
    Brok: "Bite me!"
    Mimir: "You wish!"
While it is aggressive, insinuating that Brok would enjoy if Mimir bit him can only be interpreted as flirtatious to me, even if perhaps unintentional on Mimir's part.
The romance subplot I did not know I wanted until now.

  11. Game: "Hey, you got a new rage that heals you!"
Jirard: "That's great and all….but I just wanna punch the fuck outta things.:

    Respect.

  12. As the child of an alcoholic, Gryla's fight dialogue and that end rant was uhhhhh…. not new.

  13. I just realized, based on the slab, there's gonna be some funny business with Kratos's soul, isn't there?

  14. "We know my future, and it's not getting killed by your grandma"
    "That's not how it works"
Um… isn't that exactly how it works?

  15. when i reached this part i panicked as the Valkyrie appeared, i honestly have trauma from trying to beat the Valkyries in the earlier game, im not good at god of war and they messed me up.

  16. Episode Spoiler: I think this is the most emotion I have seen Kratos express, and it made me cry. We already know how much his son means to him, and how hard he is trying to connect with him in the only ways he knows how to, then Boy goes missing for 2 days. You can just feel it in his voice, the fear that he might have lost him for good. On top of that, I love how the discovery of the Valor Heal comes in this moment where he is so vulnerable, perhaps it is even more important for him now to live for his son. To defy fate, just a little longer 😭

  17. Not me crying at virtual kids enjoying a run through a fantastical world to cheer one of them up. 😭

  18. So epic! The part about the poems had me guffawing. You two are so silly.

  19. Is Jirard ever going to realize that the shield with "High risk, high reward" actually has a reward for doing parry (double-tap L1) or will he just play the entire game without it? 0.-

  20. Jesse Cox: "What are the rules for giant lady manifestation? Asking for a friend…" Jesse… My man.. 👏

  21. Guys you gotta read those tooltips … Valour gives a damage boost if used to cancel an enemies attack, it's actually really fucking good. No offense just letting you know.

  22. Omg, the snake is gonna turn out to be future Jormundandr or something, I just remembered that in the first game they literally say he's a Giant, not just because he's big but he came from Jotunheim, there's gotta be some time travel shenanigans in the future!

  23. Does that snake grow up to be the world serpent? also did anyone else notice that 1/4 of the soul pieces from Fenrir at the beginning went into his moms dagger?

  24. What a game. And people were saying the story in Elden Ring is better. Ahahahaha.

  25. I'm going to guess… Atreus uses his magic to put Kratos's soul into the giant-soul thingy when he dies, and then Atreus takes him to Asgard, revives him somehow, and they wreck shop. I haven't played the game or seen it to the end, so just a wild theory at this point, but it seems like the empty Laufey soul container thingy is just ripe with potential and poetry.
