  2. Hey MG, Mark from Charlotte, great video! I’m always confused about the best time to plant onions, green onions and leeks here in zone 7. Unfortunately I live in the woods, and get good sun in the summer but most of my raised beds become shaded as the sun lowers in fall, so a fall garden is tough. What are your thoughts about a good time to plant the alliums in zone 7? Thanks!

  3. There are quite a few vegetables people can do this with–thank you for featuring one which might get overlooked!

  4. Mine are growing with a vengeance!!πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘ I can't wait to see it fully grown😁 I thank you very much for this video. Loved the tips and your expresions πŸ˜†I'm gonna give the milk jug a try. Hope you guys have a healthy Thanksgiving, hugs to sweet DaleπŸ•πŸπŸ¦ƒπŸπŸŒ»

  5. You can also do this with Vidalia onions. I did this with onions this past summer and got some small to medium sized onions. They will go to seed if you leave them go as it is a second year for them.

  6. I'm doing this with celery. My bunnies will get a fresh snack of celery leaves for Thanksgiving! Thanks for the great video!

  7. So funny to see your face and excitement I do the same thing when new plants come up. Knowing your growing food makes it even better.

  8. At harvest, if you cut the leak off but leave the root in the ground will it grow back? That could save a lot of time and you get multiple harvests per planting

  9. I'll try this in the spring/summer. Condensation should save the plant during extreme KS heat. Happy Thanksgiving y'all. Careful out there.

  10. I do this with onion roots and the too-tiny slivers of garlic all the time. A couple of years ago I happened on a leek "clearance" and bought a handful. You can regrow yet again – and the biggest most vigorous one I left to bloom and got more seed than I could use!

  11. I do ❀LEEKS this time of year.
They are so yummy in a crock pot stew or a baked casserole. I may have to try this because they are getting expensive$$$ at my grocery store.

  12. I think as I harvest my leeks, I will cut them an inch from the soil and leave them in the ground.
