  1. Totally love this video! Reminded me of being up at my Grandma & Grandpa's up in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia!

  2. my 92 year old mother watched and she said "tell Danny to get a mule to turn the mill and let the grandkids ride it like I use to do". Her Dad was known for his syrup

  3. My Grandfather Hardie Breland made cane syrup as did his parents in Janice Mississippi.. in the heart of Desoto National Forrest… the turn that the donkeys pulled were still there when I was young… I would shuck corn off the cobs to feed animals and so proud to be able to have had the pleasure of being able to see how the lived…. We didn’t get plumbing or wiring til I was 9 at my grandparents … I even had to use the outhouse up until then …my grandfather would go out on the porch of the old dog trot house to slingshot a chicken for my grandmother to cook later for supper… the good days for sure💚

  4. So strange to see this being done here in the US. We do this in Latin America. This is our sugar ! I am so glad to see that you can grow sugar cane where you live ! Thanks for sharing !

  5. Yesterday’s livestream was such a treat! And this video fills in the gaps of what I missed. Thank you for bringing it!

  6. That live stream was very informative now I have to do some cane next growing season!!

  7. Honestly, I am surprised you have any energy to even upload a video after 7+ hours of a live feed and HARD work. I loved every minute I could watch. Blessings

  8. And how is the syrup used? Just as a syrup for hotcakes or can it be used to sweeten teas and coffee? I've never had cane syrup before.

  9. This was so interesting! How does it compare to sugar? How is it used? If I get a chance to purchase some from someone I sure will- just no clue how to use it. I know it's much healthier!

  10. Wanda, I just found time to sit down and enjoy this video. All I could think was wow what precious memories you have recorded and put together in a cohesive story. Thank you for taking the time to put this montage together.

  11. I live in west Arkansas where can I get Cain to grow and anyone know we’re I can find an old press I could fix up.

  12. I'm going to try the wagon wheel planting method – that really looked great. It would be the perfect fit in a food forest, or along a driveway.

  13. hi ms wanda & mr danny 🤗
i always enjoy these videos. how long do you think those jars will last?
if God says the same, i'd like to visit your homestead with my dad someday. we both watch your videos from CA and LA and always look forward to the next upload. have a blessed day. tfs

  14. Would love to be involved in this process, being from the north have done maple syrup several times. Seeing this video brings back good memories and good times in the sugar bush ❤️☺️

  15. You guys I just loved this video! The history behind it is fascinating and I never knew anything about squeezing the sugar cane to get the syrup out, absolutely amazing! Thank you so much for this video 💜. Also, you did a great job of putting it all together. Much love!
