Edible Gardening

Permaculture Vegetable Garden Tour (Impromptu) – Unusual Lush November growth took my breath away

I was up working in our main growing area and as the sun came out the light started hitting all the greenery in the beds. I looked around and realised HOW MUCH was still growing for mid November and how beautiful and lush it all looked… I was completely blown away and felt inspired to grab the camera to capture this unusual growth and beauty to document the experience and to hopefully capture the vibrance I was seeing to share too.
Plants are so beautiful and when they are edible too its a double bonus, they do so much good for us and for the planet.

In this video you’ll see our Mashua, Yacon, Oca and more all growing in our Permaculture inspired, No Dig beds.

We hope you enjoy are latest video tour 💚

  1. Love the machua I really gotta get some for next year, my yacon has survived this year too and is doing great, I'm going to leave it to spread itself and harvest next year, but wow your plot is full of cheeky nibbles still, absolutely fantastic work guys!

  2. I was hesitating to plant mashua because my garden is so tiny. But you just convinced me to give it a try next year 🙂 I was unaware that the leaves are edible, too. And they are absolutely gorgeous in your garden 👍 Greetings from Switzerland 👨‍🌾

  3. Looks like a summer garden! Good to see how you’ve mapped out your growing areas….it all looks fantastic.

  4. Yes, this year is really unusual, we only had a very mild frost in late October and it didn't kill anything so it's all go still, even picking some courgettes and tomatoes still. Was really interested to see the loquats! They are evergreen in their natural environment but they are supposed to be able to fruit even in temperate climates, but i only have a small one in a pot that I grew from seed so am holding off on planting it out for another year. Yours look really lush, but i suppose they are a bit young to have fruited as yetl?
