Not sure about your cat, but there looks to be an easy escape route under some of the fencing. I know some cats would have not problems getting under there… Thumbs Up!
Looking great! He will love it. What you can do is to plant grass in a large planting pot/bucket so he has something to chew on.

Very impressive carf-joint. That reallly turned out very well. At first sight this seems to be a clever solution for the roof construction. Only time will tell if it really is clever.

If you ever need to use those knock-in staples again – they are way easier to hammer down straight if you bend the prongs in further so that they are parallel with each other (easier to pull out, but that may be a good or bad thing in future…)
are the gaps under the wall small enough, that he can't get out?

I used a 0,39 inch mesh wire, but it was for a chicken coop tbh. Still, liked the look and put in a full roof like you put on your shed. NIcely put together! I do think Mickey LOVES it! 😀
Having the top of that still open would make me nervous with my cats 😬

I’ve got a small project like this planned for my week off from work. Should be good fun to see the cats being able to chill outside and also air the house out from time to time 🙈
That's a neat solution Keith, and has the added advantage of not looking like Colditz, which it may have using the bought brackets !

Nice catio space. I'm wondering if you should not have painted the wood before gluing it. I see Mickie scoping out an escape route. I've never needed to do a scarf joint, but it looks like fun!

So much better if you under-squint it. It only needs a slight change of angle at the two short end-cuts. Also much easier if you have two hammers, for tapping the folding wedges at the same time.
