When left unattended, rust always forms on the surface of metal due to oxidization of the iron in the metal. While sanding can remove lighter rust layers, grinding is best reserved for heavier layers. A wire wheel brush or grinding pad can be attached to a grinder to remove corrosion.

I'm sure you've been told this often, but your tattoo is beautiful.

You're doing great with your restorations, and I'm just amazed. But ! Since I also collect axes and old weapons, I would have been interested to know what kind of bayonet it was. I finally had to stop the film at the point where the sign was on the display base to find out what it was. Please be so kind and write during the restauration or at the beginning what you are currently restoring , because that would make everything much more interesting . Greetings from Germany
I'm crazy about these kind of videos my friend
I thought that was not just a knife. It's a bayonet for a rifle. So cool it's looks great.
not neatly. rudely
Patina removed
Why didnt he do the thing at 3:31 for the first one?
Por un momento lo creí.
Mauser bayonets were never sharpened except by soldiers in the field. Only the point was sharp.
My thoughts are this, I feel you did a marvelous job. The fact it was a historical piece I feel like the originality was lost to time after the resto. Some things need to be preserved and not restored I feel even though you did a great job.
That is not a putty knife, is an old bayonet!
Like.
How to ruin a bayonet!
I'd susbcribe but you guys need to reply or at least acknowledge a good comment. As you never do. Plus you could be more specific about the materials, methods and processes used. And you'll see how you'll reach Crazy Russian Hacker sub and watch time count in no time. Just a thought. I did build a pizza oven based on one of your videos. Cheers
