Is Buddhism an ecological religion?



Buddhism has been either heralded as an ecological religion or castigated for not being as “green” as it proclaims to be. In this presentation, Dr Ruth Gamble questions whether Buddhism (or any religion) can or should be ecological. What social, cultural, political or scientific frameworks can we use to judge whether any belief system, particularly a non-Western religion, is or is not ecological?
