  1. I agree with you that bypass shears/secateurs are way better for repeated and clean cutting than any anvil design.
    I have the Corona BP7100 bypass shear and it is excellent – an internal and powerful spring to prevent jaw lock. Better still – the lower jaw is the slimmest I've seen and you can really get into to tight spots to hook. For loppers though – my advice is always have an anvil lopper. I have the Felco 231 – awesome!
