HUGE WINTER STORM CAUSES HAVOC IN OUR PLANS

Another windstorm on the Alaskan homestead. Makes us deviate our attention from other projects and focus on taking down the greenhouse. We also had to cancel our hunting trip due to massive storm with 55 mph winds and freezing spray.

  1. Hope you guys have a safe winter. I can't believe that Eagle didn't attack your drone. Very cool drone footage. Love the video clips of the wind blowing at your place too. Take care.

  2. New subscriber here of about a week. I have been catching up on your videos. I'm glad you finally made it home to Alaska & thank you for video'ing it. My husband is retired Army and we are living in Virginia.

  3. Thank you for your service. So sorry you had to postpone your trip. You are so good natured about rolling with the curveballs. Love how excited Diana is about the greenhouse! I sure hope the lavender comes back. Smells so good and is so pretty. Almost can’t blame the deer for being attracted to it. I do hope you get a deer for the freezer. The views & peaceful sound of the waves that you two enjoy does make me envious. LOL Stay safe and free.

  4. "Sorry to leave you to it, I love you" lol Diana, I have to admit I would of done the same, how do you pass the time when stuck indoors over the winter? stay safe you two and see you soon

  5. man yall live in a gorgeous area every video is like magic.
bummer about the hunting trip hopefully next month you can get a deer

  6. Beautiful video Brian! Especially the " Biting" sunrise! If you didn't have gloves on you surely know what biting means! Or past life experience tells you!😸

  7. Stay safe …….. and Sorry about your hunt
    and I

Hope you guys have a safe winter ……..Take care👍👍💪

  8. So a question, did the dogs ball make it back out of the hunting tote? It was great watching them after it got dropped in. 😆 Thank you for your service! Have a great week!

  9. This is/was one of your best videos both color/sound/recording/editing/content/all around , that you have put out as I remember in sometime, TY for the share of your life and home, Later

  10. Amazing view there! Exciting to see you get things going for winter season. Awesome to see lavender going too, hope it overwinters ok, very curious to see how it goes. Thank you for sharing

  11. Yeah it's pretty chilly here too . Been down in the 20's at night and around 39 during the day . Still waiting on that big buck . Glad y'all are doing good and are safe . See Y'all Later . God Bless 🙏

  12. Hey tell your wife for future reference that she can take alot of cayenne pepper and chilly powder mix with water and spray on your vegetables that the deer are eating and they'll leave it alone . Good luck

  13. If a man says he will fix it .he will…there is no reason to remind him every 6 months …women ?

Yup..during deer season I would just live across the channel on Admiralty…have the wife load the dogs with supplies and they can swim over as needed.

Here I just set a couple drive way alarms out and when they go off

I just step out on the loft porch and do a harvest..the struggle is real.

And thank you for your service !!

    Cheers.

  14. Happy Veterans Day to you 2 savages! Hope you can make up that hunt and hope you video it. Strong and right choice to stay with Diana👍

  15. Wind can sure wreak havoc on things. I have friends in Florida who suffer through hurricanes. I tell them we get them here in Wyoming but they are dry. Last week we had 60 to 80 mph winds in the southeast part of the state. Tipped over quite a few tractor trailer rig on I-25. Some truck drivers have to learn the hard way.

  16. Thank you very much for sharing your adventures. Very happy that ya"ll weathered the storm well. Stay safe.
P.S. we've hit – 28° and have about 30 centimeters of snow. Looks like a beautiful, balmy vacation paradise from here. Thanks and God Bless.

  17. At around 9:18 minutes into your video, you're unloading the tarp and something is moving through the treeline near the beach. Whatever it is disappears…Did you know that?

  18. Watching you fold that tarp brought back some old memories of folding tents and camo nets.

I guess the hunt for Bigfoot will have to wait 😁. Those winds looked harsh.

    Nice views.

Whats your address, I need to send you a new beanie.

  19. Here in Alaska our lives are pretty much dictated by the weather. You can either listen to your gut or press your luck. I was just going to say seems to me you need to do a little deer hunt in your own back yard if you feed it you should harvest it. Early morning and around sunset were the best time of day for deer hunting back home. Good luck with the hunt and storms thanks for sharing

  20. Keep up the good work I enjoy watching you but I’m glad hear a I’m here in Maine as of where you are hi hi but I’m sure you’re tough you aren’t you make out fine so I’ll keep watching god bless

  21. It's a shame you couldn't go hunting. Maybe you should have left the dog cage off the plant until you get a deer. The bucks have been running through our yard chasing does. I like to use tarsal gland as a attractant. Save the gland and some urine for next year if you get a buck this year. I put a decoy out to give them something to focus on. If I put the antlers on the decoy the does will keep their distance. If I leave the decoy looking like a doe then everyone seems more happy. That's for archery. I was photographing a nice buck that was stuck to a hot doe. Stuck as in he wouldn't leave her for nothing and had to deal with us because the doe tolerated us. You've come so far with your gardening. The greenhouse will be a good addition to everything else you have done. I was also wondering how the wind turbine was doing. You must have had your current green house structure anchored good. Many years ago, my neighbors tent style garage was blown up and into another neighbors fenced in area. He didn't have his anchored down as good as you.

  22. Good luck this winter! Having been born and raised in SE Alaska I am done with the winters! I love my place on Douglas Island for the summers but I would have a difficult time (mentally!) being there during the cold and dark times.

  23. Did you get the dogs ball out of the tote, it walked up and dropped it inside when you were in your living room packing it! You threw some stuff right on top of it!

  24. I’m catching up on videos 🤪 Can’t believe those damn deer ate the lavender too! You guys always have an extreme version of our weather. It’s a race to get ready for winter. Stay warm peops 😊

  25. My son and I had to pass on two deer yesterday, we already had two to process but I do worry if we don’t fill the freezer completely we will be in trouble food wise later in the year. If only all deer hunting was as easy as it is here in the south

  26. Nothing is better than getting home from a 70 hour work week pouring some coffee and watching An Alaskan Homestead! I Live vicariously through your videos!
