Phal Sogo Vivien Repot Repot of two Phal Sogo Vivien orchids with no roots



Phal Sogo Vivien Repot I have had Phal Sogo Vivien ‘Leaf’s Edge’ since 7.2021 and Phal Sogo Vivien since 3.2022 which both are struggling so I decided to repot them. Leaf’s Edge has been in a heavy moss set up for over a year and the moss is starting to show it, so she is due anyway. Both have grown leaves but are going slower than I would expect they should. After getting into the pots, I find out why.

    Hi Trish. Nice repot. I do have Sogo( leafs edge) and I did over water early on. She’s in a small pot and only gets water about every 10-14 days… and she is thriving. I took out any /all moss and she’s only in bark. Yup. They are like children … no two are the same. 😂

    I got my sogo (leafs edge) at the beginning of September. She looks great, and has grown one new leaf! Always love a re-pot!!!

    I beleive Phalaenopsis just prefer to have aerial roots, that is why they always insist on growing upwards, not really having that much to do with medium. I can't help thinking that Phalaenopsis have a similar growth to Vandas😃💖

    SNAP – I just un-potted my Sogo Vivien today 😲. I'd taken her out of moss and replanted into bark a month ago. She did not like this at all, 3 of 5 new roots shriveled up completely. She's now hanging over a glass with water, as the remaining roots are too small. I guess we all have plant ICU's at some point 🙄
