An idea, make edge form of top with thicker rope, and then fill in the body space with random swirls of thinner rope. Also perhaps get it to close on both sides with even thinner rope.
I would just glue them together bnut wow the dedication in sewing.. you did great~!

Nice! I agree that front should be connected and the hanging pieces should be managed as well.
Maybe use pliers to get the needle through the rope? Your fingers would be thankfull. And maybe a curved leatherneedle?
