We are in the garden today harvesting soybeans. This is a very familiar vegetable that is consumed world wide yet is almost completely overlooked and forgotten in the gardens of many western cultures. The plant has a long history with humans and is surprisingly one of the easiest beans to grow and harvest which does lend them well the plant it and forget it type garden. So next year if you have the space or need a crop to add to your rotation why not give soybeans a try in the garden!

A big cash crop in my part of Ontario. I enjoy seeing the wild turkeys and deer feeding on the beans the combine missed.
