My Last Stop Before Leaving Maine and Heading West

With autumn and cold weather setting in, I couldn’t return to Katahdin, but could make one last stop in another favorite Maine destination: Acadia National Park. I had to return to re visit some of my best spots and investigate some hidden gems and awesome trails that I had to miss on my summer visit. This itinerary takes us beyond the popular trail, and include more night hiking after a sunset hike and climbing with hikes like the precipice. Otherwise I’m taking the adventure slow with garden walks and beach visits to say goodbye to the cold Atlantic Ocean of Maine’s rocky coast – perhaps getting a cold plunge in the sea one last time. This quick road trip means seeing the fall foliage setting in and all the seasonal changes on Mount Desert Island, before kissing the eastern coastline goodbye and heading westbound home.
