  1. 2 words … = LAYER CAKE with Daniel Craig…. = watch it 😉 AAAAND if u you love Mads Mikkelsen you just gotta watch RIDERS OF JUSTICE …. that's one of the best movies i've seen in probably 10 years … even more ;)))))

  2. Congrats, Dasha–You've just seen the No. 1 rated Bond movie of all time, according to a recent youtube poll. I look at Craig;s coldness, tiger-like fights and charm, and as much as I loved PIerce Bronsan,,,Craig just had it going on a bit more. It's been more than 2 years since the last Bond flim and they still haven't found a replacement for him–because he;s that hard to follow.

  3. I play Texas Hold'em for fun a lot. I can tell you the poker playing in this movie is so questionable, shows no real strategy and quite absurd hands (flush, 2 full houses, and straight flush in the same round — like really?!?!!?). But the drama and acting around the games are pretty awesome.

  4. Am I right in saying that what worked so well in this movie was not continued in the following movies??.

  5. I remember not caring at all about this movie, after the Brosnan movies got real, REAL bad. I was shocked when I did watch it. Very true to the book (a rarity in Bond movies ever since the Moore era), and honestly, my favorite Bond film, to this day.

  6. Before her, Bond had a wife. You need to watch, "On Her Majesty's Secret Service" Then you will know the importance of this romance.
Be safe lady. Or as we say in Texas; Y'all be safe

  7. This film more accurately represents how Bond was originally written; dark, gritty and violent. The action is far more realistic and intense than past films. And Daniel Craig is perfect as Bond. I hope you’ll watch the entire series.

  8. Each Bond had a different style. The one you remember sounds like the Roger Moore era. His were less serious. The Daniel Craig are linked by story, but the rest are not. Once you finish this series, you could put up some polls to see the best of the the older ones.

Connery was more like this. cold, professional.
George Lazenby only did one movie. It wasn't very good, which sucks because it was had one of the few pivotal life moments for Bond.
Roger Moore was lighter. Less violent and less realistic. Some of his were really bad, but a few were great.
Timothy Dalton tried to be serious, and the first one was pretty solid. The second took a very serious Bond and put him in a Roger Moore movie.
Pierce Brosnan was serious but with a playful side. I liked his first movie, then they started to grate on me. There was one scene in particular where he was threatening someone for information. he just kept repeating the question and pressing the gun into a different part of the guy. That's not Bond. He was also too polished.

This movie followed the plot of the book very well. Even the torture scene was the same. Some things that were explained int he book but not the movie are that Le Chifre worked for an organization that was into everything. The kidnapping of Vesper's boyfriend was fake. it was done as a way to trick her into helping them. This plays out as a throwaway moment in a later movie. In the book, it was her brother that was being held.

  9. Should've start off with Dr No then the last. But if it were me I would've start off with Goldeneye.

  10. By the time this movie was released, the Jason Bourne saga had already begun, this saga changed and influenced the action movies of that time. Casino Royal was one of those movies that was influenced by that kind of brutal, realistic and frenetic action.
If you like this movie I also recommend the Bourne saga, those are very good also.

Dasha I hope you follow this saga until the end. Not to criticize but you tend to leave incomplete sagas and not continue them.
Looking forward to the next chapter "Quantum of Solace"

  11. I liked this movie showing how he evolved from a new 00 to the polished tux wearing, shaken martini drinking, James Bond.

  12. I adore this movie. The script, the acting, the stunts, it's like a 10/10. Enjoyed the reaction immensely, especially the big poker scene.

  13. I adore this movie. The script, the acting, the stunts, it's like a 10/10. Enjoyed the reaction immensely, especially the big poker scene.

  14. In all the other James Bond movies, Bond is already a Double-O agent. Casino Royale was a reboot and explained how he got his Double-O rating. He had to first kill two people to get his "Licence to Kill".

Fun Fact: Originally James Bond in the novels was a product of the Cold War, his main enemies was a Russian agency called SMERSH which according to the books meant "Death To Spies". Then later as the Cold War thawed the author Ian Fleming changed the villains to SPECTRE who were stateless.

  15. No gray area Dasha. He was in desperate need of this money but only because he used money that he took from war lords to invest into an airline losing hundreds of millions. He was creating hysteria and costing millions in lose to investors who could be very wealthy or an average Joe. He ended up losing either most of it or all of it when Bond stopped the bombing of the super airliner.

  16. If you're interested in seeing more of Mads Mikkelsen, I highly recommend watching the series Hannibal, though I suggest watching the Sam Harris movies beforehand. With the exception of Silence of the Lambs, the series covers a lot of the same material but in a very different and usually far superior way than the rest of the films, and to be completely honest outside of Red Dragon, the other 2 films aren't that good but become almost laughable, when viewed after a series that makes the movies Hannibal and Hannibal Rising, look like grade school video projects.

  17. because this movie is action packed, beautiful, intense, and has awesome poker action/tension…. its hard to beat this movie imo i love the poker game tension and even the love scenes are so beautiful to me. the rest of this series is just nothing compared to this movie imo, not to mention this movie is far more tamed or grounded in realism compared to the rest of the films and it makes it a lot more intense to me. i know it isnt a realistic movie, it just "feels" more realistic and its more enjoyable for me for that very reason in itself. the film makers tried a lot more imo to make it believable and it drastically improves a movies watch-ability for me. great reaction

  18. The freerunning chase seen is one of the best of all time. Kudos to the stunt team and Daniel. Great job out of the gate for Mr Craig. All this and to go home to Rachel Weisz as well? Wow! Finally this story gets the treatment it deserves. There are two bad versions of the story out there. The TV show from the 50s where Jimmy Bond is American. And the Woody Allen 60s movie. Woody Allen? Are you serious? Really bad. At least Herb Alpert's theme song is good. Anyway, great job Dasha! You're a treasure.

  19. Your tell is everything you choose to express on your channel. Don't worry though, it's easy to become still.

  20. This is based on Ian Fleming's 1953 007 novel. Michael Wilson and Barbara Broccoli hit the "reset button" after Die Another Day(2002). The theme song is performed by Chris Cornell. Cornell was a member of Soundgarden. Cornell died in 2017.

  21. For me, this is the best Bond movie of the entire franchise. Aside from the blonde hair and good looks, this Bond came closest to the Bond in the books. Cold and brutal.

  22. Another highly popular movie to watch with Daniel Craig in it is a movie called “Layer Cake”. If you like British movies two more awesome movies are “Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels” and “Snatch”.

  23. Men don't consider good women to be "disposable pleasures". Notice the fist woman treated her relationship as disposable and actually cheated on her husband with Bond, who is single and available. Women that cheat on their husbands are not good women.
