A Couple has a Million Pound Budget for a Home | Location Location Location | All Homes

Kirstie and Phil travel to Surrey to help two couples hunt for the perfect home. They offer advise to Susie and Andy Clark and their two children and Susie’s 89-year-old father who are looking for a place. They also try and help Sam Summers and Jess Jeary who are buying their first home together.

Property professionals like Phil Spencer and Kirsty Allsopp know all the secrets of successful house-hunting: being clear about what you want, aiming high and, above all, being prepared to compromise.
Our experts work to a brief of must-have attributes: number of bedrooms, character property or new build, but the most important aspect is always… Location, Location, Location! From auction houses and estate agencies, to websites and word-of-mouth, they leave no stone unturned in their quest for the best. They then have the unpredictable task of showing the house-hunters around a shortlist of properties that appear to fit the bill. Will they have judged their tastes correctly? Do these people even know what they want?

  1. In that second house with room for her dad 'in the eaves', he's 90! How long will he be climbing two flights of stairs to get anywhere? Of course, he does look pretty spry at the moment.

  2. I enjoy the properties and the search, but trying to cater to horrible snobs with a million to spend and impossible needs is no pleasure to watch.

  3. I think the solution to the first couple is simple: Go with the house for now, and go for the country when the kids are out of the house and they've both retired.

  4. I've said this before. Stick up some crown molding. You can have it all, just not all at once. Dad will be gone soon. The kids not much longer. Live with it. Have what you want in retirement.

  5. LOL I had a good laugh when Susie dismissed the second house saying she would not want to wake up every day and look at THOSE houses over there – what view did she expect? The Balmoral castle?

  6. No Kirsty, I don't agree with you for a second that Susie will be the one doing all the compromising. I can't believe you even said that. So far it's very clear that it's 'my way or the highway'.

  7. Thank you SO MUCH for posting these!!! They are a sheer delight! Can't get enough of Kirstie and Phil (Pip!). Thank you, thank you!! You brighten our lives!!!!

  8. SO happy for yet another episode!!! (I look forward to these and it's such a treat whenever they pop up!!). Grateful!

  9. The first couple have a disastrous relationship…..Phil might seem like he's joking around…….

  10. Oh my gosh! Suzie is horrible. I didn't know people like that still existed.
