Taken 9am to 5pm. Unlike calatheas, these snake plants hardly move during the day (though if you look carefully, one leaf does shift by a millimeter). So out of curiosity, I’ve included my light meter to see just how much light my north-facing window gets. I was happy to see that the midday light surpassed 500 foot-candles. No wonder these three snake plants have grown so well! Note: I bought this light meter before I owned a smartphone but now you can download a light meter app (preferably one that has foot-candle units). I use “Light Meter v2.3” by Borce Trajkovski (on Android).
