  1. I love Over The Garden Wall! The art style is so cute and detailed but so made for the fall season! Your art matches that perfectly!🍁🍂🎃

  2. The painting is so cute!! I’ve never seen Over The Garden Wall, but now I’m convinced I have to!

  3. Just finished rewatching this a few days ago, there's a scene like this in one of the last episodes where they start out in a boat with the fish that's a fisherman

  4. I was noticing that sheen you were talking about right before you mentioned it. It's like somehow perfect for the subject matter and everything

  5. Yeeeeeees! It's an annual rewatch for me also, it's indeed just peak humour and such a special poject for our generation. Came out at the right time!
Also, lowkey love your outfit! hahaha I hope you, as you are an American, have a good Spooky time this year c: 🎃

Your artwork is so cool! As much as I love the big detailedp ieces of fanart featuring all the characters, I think some focused pieces like this are far more special! It just shows a special connection between the artist and the art, which is great! I hope you enjoyed making it, since the pieces is absolutely phenomenal! I especially love the atmospehre you manage to create!

Your stylitization of the bois is so utterly perfect, greg is such a perfect potato!

  6. You achieved a really nice surface and impressive color saturation in this gorgeous little illustration! We're not surprised to hear you had issues using gouache on an acrylic-primed canvas in the earlier attempt- the binders (usually gum arabic or dextrin) don't impart enough flexibility or adhesive power for acrylic primed supports, and the primer isn't absorbent enough to promote good handling. An old art school "cheat" might have helped: mixing in a water-based PVA glue to make traditional gouache more flexible and to reduce reactivation in layering. Not all pigments are compatible with polymer dispersions/emulsions, however, and we aren't sure about the long-term durability of such a mixture. Acrylic gouache is a better choice most of the time compared to "poor man's vinyl emulsion colors", though the latter can definitely get you through the next homework due date!

  7. I'M LIVING FOR THE SPOOKY ATMOSPHERE IN THE INTRO! I'm so happy you did an OTGW piece, it's so stunning! I loved your interpretation. I've been wanting to do an art piece from the show too, but i've been pushing it back 😂so this is giving me another motivation to start! I definitely understand the pressure of making a good, creative fanart though, so I commend you for finishing!

  8. I have never heard of „over the garden wall“ (seems to be more an American thing) but you were so hyped that I just have to check it out XD

  9. Ahh Al this was so good. I just found out about otgw this year, because of Ruth Speer and I absolutely fell in love and wanted to see more process videos of artists painting fan art so this was great!! Thanks for sharing and I really want to try gouache one day, I bought some but I have yet to use them 😭.

  10. oh my god, i started watching this cartoon a short time ago and it is already the best i could see, i thought it was really amazing

  11. Haha I LOVE the Halloween intro you created for this video!! And I've actually never heard of Over The Garden Wall 🙊I'll have to look it up – thanks for introducing it to me! I've never used gouache before, but I'd like to eventually, so I'll definitely be adding these to my list.

  12. great creepy piece, tells a nice story 😀
