Protecting and defending your preps is solid… until its not. You have to know when the fight is winnable… and when you need to get outta dodge quick.
Block your intrance road or community roads with farm equipment in rifle range would be good

I love these videos, but often wonder how wise it is to make public what you and others have in preps. I recall a Doomsday Prepper episode in which one person (who was later arrested on unrelated charges) claimed his plan in a SHTF scenario he was going to steal from other know preppers.

Have 6 bull massifs that don’t depend on electricity or internet. Also 4 Tom turkeys that don’t play.
A great product to enhance your solar generator is a battery sump pump back up.. I have a solar generator and solar panels and I also have 2 sump pump back up battery. Plug the back up in and plug the sump pump into it. Will run my pump for 24 hours. The plus is I paid 150$. Not a long term thing but great for when the power first goes out and if you are running a generator you can charge these up like a solar generator for a fraction of the cost.

In Australia 70 % of houses have fly screens with security grills or better still security screens made from metal mesh (crimsafe), Including all doors.
Might want some night vision and some empty sandbags too (if you dont have a brick home especially).
I learned a lot about home security from the movie, “Home Alone.” 😅

My 1st thought was wow you spend a lot of time on defense then I chuckled thinking of anyone trying to come in..you your wife oldest son n even the lil ones will be fighting because of how you prep n teach . this is good info for a lot of people!!

Good information as always. I have 9 dogs. They are a great security system. No one comes into our home without them going off and alarming us. And if we aren't home, it will make them think twice about entering and getting attacked once they hear them all sounding off. I'd think twice if I went to some ones house with the intention of robbing if I heard multiple dogs sounding off. Even if I had a gun/knife.
Rose bushes would be good, too because of the thorns

in the 80's i installed a security system in a home. The corners weren't corners on the exterior the diagonal windows were inset and the brick had a 6" gap on the corners. Inside were regular windows basically every corner was as shooting port.
I worry about a fire attack.
Molotov Cocktails are simple to make & the go-to weapon for evil doers.
How to defend against?
How to extinguish?
How to stop/drop/roll?
Fire will be the weapon of marauding.
Fire can distract, cause diversion, cause panic, cause nasty injuries.
I’m not prepared for a fire attack?
I thought it wasn’t safe to have the hinges on the outside.
I have been putting iron pipes cut to fit window or door with an electrical strap bracket or heavy duty bent nail formed to u hanger. It is not impenetrable but would slow progress to smashing frame through to entry. Been doing this for years especially for basement.
I bought body armor for myself my son his wife and his son which is my grandson. It’s a little heavy and I hope I never have to use it but if I do I need it it’s here. Somethings are here on my premises so they don’t have to store it but if things start happening they will have what they need at their location I go there every night for dinner anyhow
I think if it gets bad it’s gonna take a group to survive I’ve seen in Prepper channels where people say I’m not gonna trust anybody but a man his wife and two kids can’t hold off a hoard of people trying to get what you have. I have family members and people who will fight to the death for the group you have to sleep at some point and having eyes on so to speak at all times is crucial but that’s just my opinion.

I'm collecting CROWBARS ALL SIZES, Finding them at festivals/yardsales for $2, $4, $7. I always carry my 1 footer with me in hand when walking through the woods, I figure it'll make a good skull crusher for man/animal/snake especially since someones 15ft. snake got lose within a mile of me and Fish & Wildlife assured the public it won't live through winter–huh I guess someone should tell them snakes go underground or in caves [loads of those here] during winter months. However a crowbar is not my only defense. Ninja granny 🙂

I think it needs to be said however that a dog does have needs outside of food water shelter and exercise. They are pack animals and are absolutely miserable if kept solitary, they are not just tools.
My father and uncles were drafted. My grandfather fought in WWII. I had family that lived through the depression. My children are in a sense of entitlement. Covid has been a challenge. I would rather have it. I hated standing in long lines six feet apart to be allowed one item. 😢. I have no desire to go out on civil unrest and fight for overpriced food with diseases etc.
Security is a huge concern of mine! I’m currently looking at monitoring but am acutely aware of the ability for others to hack into your system!! The low tech way seems safer to me! I’m just not sure!!!

I have ADT and solar cameras, my problem is every system works off the internet. The only thing I have found that isn’t dependent on the internet is old style nursery monitors. Good luck watching all the windows and doors in your house when the net goes down.

Motion detector lights are great to have too, I have a couple, but need to check and see if they have ones that are solar charged.
