NO Better Day than YESTERDAY | The Next Generation!

To date we have cleared more trees on our farm than we have planted. But this marks our 50 Trees planted on farm! The trees that we have removed are invasive or dangerous and removing them has made more green spaces for wildlife, bees and movement through the property.
It’s a true saying the best day to plant a tree was 20 years ago, the second best day was yesterday and all your left with as an option is today.
So we encourage you to go out and plant a tree and make it a deliberate decision, one that provides something to our future generations.

  1. I hope those nifty tree collars work well for you and allow your trees to reach maturity. What a lovely thought to be able to view your trees many years from now with your grandchildren!

  2. If you like hazelnut you can get them in either a tree or bush form. I hope when I get a farm to do the same as you.

  3. I love how you have been saying, "I hope this inspires you". After your video about making our homemade canned products taste better than the store, you really blew my mind on how commercialized I was still thinking. Question for you- if you had a 2 yr plan to move to a different house, would you still plant fruit bushes?

  4. I’m using bone sauce made by Billy Bond of Perma Pastures Farms. It goes on when the trees are dormant. I even put it on wooden stakes in with my green beans and it it repelling them rabbits that were destroying the plants. Not cheap, but one little half pint will last me a long time. So far I have 6 fruit trees but will add more.

  5. We've opted for reusable, expandable Wire fencing. We'll suffer the nicks from cutting and forming the tubes…

  6. THANK YOU for this video! We planted about 20 apple trees last year and they were decimated by deer. I stood and cried over my trees. We had resigned to saving for a perimeter fence, but this option is way more feasible! Now it won’t take as long to save for a new orchard and property-line maples. My husband and I get so much value from your sharing, we appreciate you. Much gratefulness from Wisconsin. 😘

  7. This is such a lovely video. And you are absolutely right about walnuts being a death trap. There's a walnut tree in my neighbor's yard, and they get everywhere when they fall! When we were going trick or treating, I walked down my walkway and down the steps. There was a walnut, a very soggy Walnut, waiting for me at the bottom of the steps. If my husband hadn't been beside me, I would have fell right on the stone steps. We also have a pecan tree, and a fig tree in our own yard. I told my husband that if we ever move I will be taking a sapling or two or three of each. Thank you for this video! And there's no doubt that he is your angel! 😂😂💖💖

  8. I just love you guys! Watching all you both do is so inspiring to me. I wish I had parents like y’all!!

  9. Have you tried growing from seed? So many seedlings drop each year that you could plant in pots and grow a year. I have maples that I started from seed. Its quite enjoyable to nurture them and satisfying to plant out in the yard.

  10. another great video! word of advice, I used a similar tree guard, and with the strong winds we get (up to 25mph) the wind collapsed the tube and it folded over. Good luck i hope they work for you, the rebar in the ground will help, i only had wooden stakes.

  11. I love Mulberry…. what do you guys do with them? I make freeze them for shakes. I did dehydrate some this year. Would love a video in this one if you have time. You guys are awesome! Can wait till the next video 📹.

  12. New to your channel – love it! I’m sure a million people have asked you, but what camera do you use – it’s great! Thanks for the inspiration to be more self-sufficient but also to be able to be more generous in giving to family and friends 😄

  13. Ooh yes..Todd for sure is an angle..one of the few gentlemen left on planet earth…hope both have recovered fully..love from Kenya Africa.

  14. Tree’s-Tree’s and more trees it’s always something Todd & Rachel., Yes Rachel I love your husband White Beard 11-4-2022♥️

  15. Do you leave the tubes on trees on all year? Arbor Foundation gives tree seedlings for a small price or sometimes the local extension office.

  16. Property is looking great you guys. What was that ‘dead patch’ behind you towards the end of the video?

  17. You mentioned you have black walnut and showed you tapping a tree for syrup at the 6:50 mark. Have you tapped them for syrup yet? They are absolutely delicious for syrup.

  18. I use pipe insulation for protection against the rabbits. 12 GA for the deer.
You need an Oak tree area for the deer. And a tree stand. Careful for what you wish for. Trees can be a full time job.

  19. You have any white mulberries? They have shiny leaves. People dry them and eat them. High in protein I guess. They're a novelty. Worth gathering and doing something with.

  20. Have you checked with Michigan DNR? Often times your States DNR offers small trees for a really good price to promote conservation efforts.

  21. My parents farm was called Homestead Orchard . In 1976 they started purchasing trees from Stark Bothers. .5oo trees and I cant even imagine how much that would be. You both are a younger version of my parents. My children have fond memories of those days. My youngest son's nick name was apple face because he was always eating them. Your place will be heaven on earth for your grandchildren.
