Halloween Garden, Seed Collecting Part 1

what’s still growing with only 9 weeks left to 2022? You’d be surprised! We’ve still got heaps of green beans, okra, which proved to be almost too much of a producer! Our brussel sprouts are really just now coming on, and the tomatoes are coming ripe by the dozens, and are just as sweet as can be. The hot peppers are still producing, and it’s never too late to plant snow peas!

  1. If u find a person that raises chickens ask for the clean out manure and put it on ur garden spaces thick let it do its thing over the winter before you turn it in then next spring ur plants will be twice as bountiful

  2. Good Morning Loves, Caroline is a cutie that T shirt suits her good, you should let her talk more in your video's Nina. lol. sending hugs from Wa, state.

  3. Bsprouts can take a few frosts, & actually taste sweeter when picked in cooler weather. Just keep those nasty white butterflies (cabbage loopers) away from anything in cabbage family, Stay well!

  4. Cactus Jack from WiLLiE 102 West Kentucky, (Mayfield-Murray-Paducah) checking in. This was indeed a crazy summer for gardens. But we got through it. The seed pack you recommended did just fine, although we were a tad late to the party. Thanks for all you do!

  6. Hi Nina! I have thick coat of green wheat on my garden that I'm going to turn under after we get some rain to rot out over the winter and improve the soil. Looks like you did well on saving okra seed!

  7. That must be a full career now, storm clean up. A tractor with front end loader, trailer, truck and tent. Every year.

  9. Nina it was a super tough time this year for gardens. I only got 1 cantelope and 1 watermelon. Nooooo tomatoes. Very few zucchini and no peppers….. I would have had sweet corn but my cattle got out and well the rest of the story is NO sweet corn

  10. Good to see ya back. Are you no longer interested in doing any videos together? Hopefully we can still collaborate sometime.

  12. Deer can kill a greenie beanie plant. The things that I got left is a few bell peppers and jalapenos. The romaine lettuce and cabbage is doing OK. I've had to give 'em Miracle Gro' a few times, even after Ian. Normally, I'm done with the garden by mid to late September. But, I'm just not ready to quit yet this year. Heck, I got 30 quarts of green beans, 17 quarts of tomatoes, 16 quarts of pasta sauce ( Thank you, Mrs. Wages!) and 18 pints of salsa. I made chicken salad out of chicken sh** again! Thanks to Miracle Gro'!

  13. I am going to plant some fava beans a.k.a. broad beans….. there are some good videos on youtube on how to do them.
I thought you might like to try also.

  14. Nina, you have a heart of Gold. I know those people in Florida appreciate all you have done and are doing for them. God Bless You!!
I’m gonna have to get one of those shirts

  15. As far as I know, raw beans are poisonous. You have to cook them before you eat them.

  16. Horse shit works real well mixed in your garden soil , it makes things big , green ,and healthy.

  17. A couple weeks behind hang in there! Brussels sprouts. Ya know I think the sun is so hot for so long plants can’t handle it I’m getting something to cover stuff

  18. Nina: "…you can't kill a green bean plant…"
Me: You haven't seen my garden have you… 🙂
