GIGANTIC Fingerling Potatoes! | BEST Fall Crop Potato Harvest 2020 from Containers | Container Gardening at Guten Yardening
This year we decided to plant a later crop of potatoes. Our goal here was to extend our potato crop longer and to produce more than we ever had in the past.
But, when we went to buy more seed potatoes, there were none to be found. In the end, we had to buy some organic fingerling potatoes from the regular grocery store for only .99 cents. And the results speak for themselves.
We were so surprised at how plentiful the harvest was considering we had never tried these before (and considering they were store bought), but based on this experience, I am confident that we will try this method again in the future.
You have to see what .99 cents turns into. I promise you, you won’t be disappointed, and you might even want to try this yourself in the future.

when did you plant those? i am in 7b alabama and want to try this. yes, 1.5# bag at store nearly $5. you sure did good!!!
The "Bargain Hunter", thanks for sharing. I also have issue with only seeing seed potatoes in spring. Seems that most store bought potatoes will not produce well, even if those end up sprouting. I will have to look for organic potatoes to do some testing myself. For gardeners who grow indoors, this will be helpful for growing potatoes in fall.

Congratulations on the harvest! I love growing sprouted potatoes from the store, especially when they are discounted. My local farmers market sells their potatoes in brown paper bags. I never get to use all of them before they sprout, but those ones get planted. I only buy seed potatoes if I want a certain variety. Thanks for the video!
