HOUSE TOUR I A Pennsylvania Farm with Rolling Hills and a Historic Home

On Today’s episode of Homeworthy we’re taking you to Hillside Farm, a fabulous property just outside of Philadelphia. Ruth McKeaney and her family live in a beautiful historic home from the 1700s. On the rolling grounds you can also find an enormous barn, a chicken coop, a cutting garden and so much more. They spent years lovingly renovating this property and wait until you see what the home and farm used to look like. You won’t believe it! Enjoy!

  1. She is absolutely Amazing and wonderful. I just love everything about this video, One of the best I have seen Thank you

  2. It's very cozy British country house. A little bit higgledy-piggledy ("nooks and crannies"); lots of mix and match prints and patterns and tchotchkes

  3. Love the tour! Love her style! The wallpapers in the bath and dining room are amazing. Her style is a style i love too. I could move right in and be happy.. love all of the colorful art! Such a pretty bedroom.. love the painted trim.

  4. I love our 17th century beautiful stone houses abundantly scattered in the South Central PA valleys. I have two friends who live in these and have enjoyed spending time there.

  5. I love everything about this video. The lady is lovely, interesting and has a great sense of style. Her home is beautiful. You can tell a lot of work and love has gone into this place.

  6. Love this home and property. Who cares if the floor slopes. There are so many places in the home that are inviting and personal. The use of that soft sage green in the master and touches of it in the barn were lovely. Actually, the barn looks so comfortable. We all need to acknowledge that we make mistakes and our lives have some imperfect parts, but that is OK. That gives us a chance to grow and learn.

  7. Wow!! I haven't been this inspired in a long time. What a heavenly place and beautiful woman, inside and out.

  8. This is truly fabulous. What a dynamic woman. I wish we could have met Bob.

  9. Love every thing about her home and her presence in her home and family ~ blessed !

  10. Magnificent labor of love. And she was a joy to watch. She is whimsical yet down-to-earth; charming and real. This is truly a dream home, the type of home you see for sale on a website like “Old House Dreams” but you know to restore and remodel it as well as she and her husband have would take a fortune and a lifetime. It’s my dream home but mine would be on a much smaller scale. A lot of labor, great interior decorating, and I’m sure love have gone into this masterpiece and I’m grateful she has shared it with us. Great choice for an episode Homeworthy!!!

  11. So happy to see someone revive a house without creating the ubiquitous open floor plan! And providing more evidence that my dream of living in a barn is a good one. Thank you for sharing your home.

  12. I'm speechless, what an accomplishment this place represents and the best part is that it is all about family. Life is funny that way, after flipping houses for many years and discovering her creative talents – she was ready for the "big one". I like that they consulted historians. I truly can't even imagine how much dedication it takes to live in a tent while working on your place. Of course, it helps to have a problem-solving husband and a large family that pitches in, just as she is there for them when there is a need. Fascinating story and a fabulous tour – thank you, you showed us all how to live life at its best. Impressive! I may just have to buy that book for the cookie recipe alone.
