  1. Just reiterating that there are no GMO seeds that are available for the average gardener to purchase. Growing GMO seeds is only for commercial farmers and requires lots of contracts and legal. So any seed companies promoting their "non GMO seeds" are just using that technically true statement as a marketing tactic.

  2. I found some 4.4lb Himalayan pink salt bricks on clearance at TSC for $1.79. They seemed to be meant for animals, but I thought it was such an amazing deal I couldn't pass it up. I bought 3 of them! It's been a couple years now, and I have no complaints. All I have to do is smack it a few times and put the chunks into my salt mill when it needs a refill. Still can't get over that I got 13.2lbs of expensive salt for under $6! Never experienced any grit or anything.

  3. I do like purchasing from Victory Seeds. They're local to me here in Oregon and may be a good option for other PNW gardeners. They are open pollinating

  4. Happiest turn of the decade to you! And I must say you guys are both looking great! You must live somewhere in the rain shadow side of the Pacific Northwest. Here in Deer park, Washington we've been dealing with some of the worst, messiest weather I have ever seen and I have been up here for 12 years.

  5. Have you made a video where you are harvesting the seeds from your plants? If not, could you one day out in your garden? Thank you for this info.

  6. Gardening question: Josh, what method do you and Carolyn use to add minerals back into the soil?

  7. GARDENING QUESTION : i have a head of garlic that sprouted over christmas break. can i plant it at the end of winter ? how do i go about doing that ?

  8. I save seeds from one year to the next. I still grow heirloom seeds that my grandparents handed down.

  9. on the back of my seed packets it say open pollinated and untreated. So I am wondering if I would need to select and hand pollinate some flowers to save seeds of heirloom varieties for next year?

  10. Happy Birthday Josh!!!, My question is, what kind and where do you get the mulch you use in your garden??? I live in Northeast Texas and need something that will work best in my area. Thank you, have a blessed day.

  11. Peppers are the only things we start inside or buy plants. Everything else that we direct sow outshines what we started inside and transplant.

  12. Hey Guys, could you recommend a dry bean for Northern Idaho. I've been struggling to get them to mature before my first frost. Thanks.

  13. Totally agree with the rain on top of snow. In central Idaho where I live (McCall area) it has been an interesting winter too! I'm a new subscriber and love your channel. Great content and well delivered!

  14. I’m very new to gardening, I have question, the seed package has a number of days printed on it , does that include starting them early ? I was thinking of the onions particularly, Melissa said she plants the onion seeds 16 weeks before her last frost date. Would that time be included in the number of days to harvest on the seed packet?

  15. I was just talking to my husbnad about focusing on what we grow best. Yes its good to try and improve and step outside the box. But dont let it absorb too much of your energy. We have 3 small kids and I need to be very conscious of my time and how its best spent. Also, I bought a lot of my seed from a local producer. I bought my Roma tomato seeds from them because I know they are bred to grow here in Virginia. They have a lot of great gardeners they work with. Southern Exposure Seed Exchange in Virginia. Im hoping to have great success with all the seeds I got from them this year.

  16. I’m in Columbia, South Carolina and there IS a drop for azure standard on Clemson Rd. I haven’t used them yet but there do deliver in the south east.

  17. Hey just curious how do you know/plan/calculate how many cars you need to have for planning to can your garden? Just not really sure where to start 🙂 thank you!

  18. Happy Bday coming up, 50 is a great yr, I looked back on my life at 50 and said, ok what did i accomplish, I was pleased, not everything had gone right but i was satisfied with what i had done so far in life. Many great yrs ahead , especially with all those children, great job. Both of you and thank you.

  19. Oh good, it's nice to know my kids aren't the only ones who miss the hamper or mess up their clean clothes. How about I put a roll of trashcan liner bags on your shelf, you think you could put a new bag in your trashcan when you take your trash out 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️ it's not rocket science! Ugh, I gotta crack that whip almost everyday with 3 kids LOL. Love the pantry chats. Love you guys! Happy birthday Josh 🥳
