The Opposite of a Minimalist Garden

You’ve probably heard of minimalism in gardening. Today we are going to see the opposite of a minimalist garden, a maximalist garden packed with ideas. Join my friend Janie and me as we see the way she and her husband Bill maximize the use of a small space garden. The result is a snug and whimsical courtyard landscape. It’s gardening to the max! #gardening #gardendesign #gardentour #maximalism

  1. I live in new Mexico and yes russian sage is very invasive, dont like it, its classed as a weed in some states. Those peppers are dried chile ristras. (A brit in the USA)

  2. I love love love this garden tour!!! What a wonderful use of so many different plants! My head is spinning and I want to go out and buy them all!!!❤

  3. Carolina Jasmine is said to be poisonous to bees! Had an arbor full of it but cut it down when I found this out.

  4. Such a beautiful garden. Her use of a small space is incredible and she has such an artistic eye for the perfect placement of each plant…

  5. Janie is a true artist💗 I love her garden and her style. Incredibly unique. Thank you for the tour, Linda!

  6. I truly enjoyed this garden. Please give more information on the shrub y’all called Nellie Stevens. Is it a magnolia or holly? I really liked it.

  7. ☀️Thank you! great video🤩
So nice of your friend to allow a tour of her garden. 👍

  8. What is possible when you have a green thumb. Beautiful! Wish I could learn this. Sadly many of my garden plants struggle just to stay alive.

  9. Is it a native honeysuckle. lonicera? Does it have little white blooms in January/February? Maybe early March where you are?

  10. Q #2…Looks like the grass I have – switchgrass, maybe 'Northwind' – in Janie's pot (?) I really enjoy the look of the flagstone pavers with gravel too! It's such a charming courtyard garden, love the use of herbs, russian sage, etc!
