I once saw a guy do the same with squirrels- carved off the outer layer and smeared on some peanut butter for good measure, and the result was one of the single most terrifying things i've ever seen in my life, not limited to gourds, just in general. The squirrel that swings from my window screen at night decided to redecorate our jack o lantern ๐ you can see his lil claw and tooth marks around the eyes, but it made the pumpkin look creepier
