I Accidentally Destroyed the 350 Gallon Paludarium

The saga of moving into the new place has finally come to an end and we’re going out with a bang… literally! I didn’t want to draw the process out this long, but one thing led to another and here we are. The entire process took much longer than expected. There were plenty of hiccups as well, but pretty much all the animals made it there safely, which is the important thing.

I meant to talk about it in the video, but my plan was and still is to rebuild the 350, but in a different way. I’ll have to get some replacement glass now since we dropped the back, but that’s alright. My plan for it is much different than before and I can’t wait to share that.

I can’t wait to show you all what’s next and I appreciate your patience as I worked through all of this. Enjoy the video!

  1. The saga of moving from the old place has finally come to an end and I couldn't be happier. I'm sad to leave the old place, but I'm hopeful for what's next. It's been a rough journey full of ups and downs. Either way, I'm very thankful for all of your support along the way and your patience. I didn't want to make this many videos about the move. However, it took longer than expected and there was a lot to show. So it only made sense and I've been scheming up ideas ever since. I can't wait to show you all what's next… things are about to go crazy! Have a great weekend SerpaSquad!

ALSO, I my plan was and still is to rebuild the 350, but in a different way. I'll have to get some replacement glass now since we dropped the back, but that's alright. My plan for it is much different than before and I can't wait to share that.

  2. Don’t worry about the vlog style, we love it!!! So happy to see you happy and relieved, can’t wait for all your new projects 😊

  3. You always have the most beautiful displays and woodwork, I cannottt wait to see how the new house turns out!! So many peoples fish rooms are so clinical and yours feel so immersive and natural!! No matter what u do it’ll be great!

  4. It's amazing you've been able to upload at all during this transition! Don't worry about typical content Tanner. Your fans and followers are here for more than just build videos. We enjoy your journey and you as a person. Thank you for sharing and taking us all along. Really looking forward to seeing how the new space will come together over time!

  5. cant wait to see the new full setup mate , thanks for your videos , they are inspiring and great to see new ideas and ways of doing things !! all the best mate cant wait to see whats next 🤙

  6. If it was only the back plane of glass broken on the 350 couldn't you replace it with a piece of plywood sealed with pond armor and just assemble it and still have it function as it did before? Great video always happy for you your wife and animals I know you have great things to come.

  7. Just watching you move all that lot has been exhausting!! Well done for all your hard work. The new place looks incredible. Thanks for sharing with us. Don't forget to take a little time for yourself now.

  8. I remember finding and watching your channel back in 2015 with your How To Terrarium series. It's been a joy watching you grow and mature over the years. This move from one space to another marks the turning of a page from one chapter to the next. With both the ups and the downs, the path trodden makes us better people over time.

  9. You're too hard on yourself!! Your fans support you, and I definitely relate to how hard it is to say goodbye to an important space. You have made amazing content from here, but I'm so excited for the new space because I know you're going to do even MORE incredible things.

I think the new space is just begging for a larger indoor pond as a centerpiece. I'd be excited to see that video!!

  10. Congratulations on the new house and getting mostly everything and everyone there safely (sorry about the broken tanks & few fish friends that just couldn't handle the stress, you still did an amazing job). It was obviously a lot of work and a lot of stress but, I truly appreciate that you chose to even make content for us during this hectic time, giving us a peek at what goes into a move when you have a lot of animals, terrariums, tanks, enclosures, furniture & plumbing setups for it all, ponds, & plants etc.

And just like always, you managed to teach us a lesson in the process: even though things can & will go wrong, you just have to keep going & finish the job. No need or time to dwell on the things w cannot change. Congratulations again on everything and thank you for sharing your gift, talents, & knowledge with us. You're a pretty amazing person xx

  11. It was a really good video. Showing how difficult it is to move everything including the damage which occurred is a lesson to us all that even the best planning doesn't always go well. Looking forward to seeing how your new animal room grows. Good luck in your new home.

  12. The whole stress free comment in the video beginning made me laugh. There’s no such thing as stress free. A little 10 gallon tank with a couple goldfish is even stressful most of the time. Lol

This is a huge bummer. I guess I’m glad it was only the one piece but it’s still a bummer. :/

  13. Moving is always huge but you had a lot of stuff there that was kind of your art and your pets and a big part of your history, but at the same time starting over brings new opportunity and you get to do new things and start over.

  14. It is touching. Frankly I personally don't care what you put on here given what you said about this not being your usual. It's all a process and I'm grateful for you sharing the story with us 🙂 plus it shows why excuses were made to make new tanks I guess :s I hope you're settling ok tanner, congratulations with the move house and house find 🙂

  15. Maybe using an acrylic sheet for the back as a replacement would be a good idea now, lighter and more shatter proof and no need to worry about scratches or discoloration cause it's in the back anyway

  16. Don't apologize about your content. You share your life with us and this is what is going on currently in your life. It shows how hard you work for what you have and continue to provide the best life for your animals. I hopw ypu guys had plenty of help moving is hard and stressful and I cant imagine the stress in moving all of your critters. Have a great day

  17. Hate to hear the 350 is broken, but glad the move is now complete and all your babies are in the new home, I'm dreading my own move in a few months with just 3 animals to move move.

  18. Keep it up man! You’re doing great and it doesn’t come across as complaining, love hearing about the process.

  19. Can I ask how much that single piece of glass cost? And is that 12 ml or 14? Thanks. And 3 people lifting will be better next time I think. Doing those sides by yourself was incredibly silly too. If you had not been in a hurry, and got your Dad to help there too, it would have been less worrisome watching you do this. I was a glazier fir about 17 years there., so if there is something I understand, it's broken glass. It's a drag when something like this happens.

  20. I've loved to see your journey and where you've been all this time. With that being said I look forward to seeing what you have in store for the future!

  21. I've been watching you for quite a few years now. And I'm so excited and happy for you guys. I love to see your journey videos and seeing you grow. Can't wait to see what's next!

  22. I will never complain about closing down my 3 small warm season outdoor turtle ponds again after seeing what all you had to go through. We live in SD, and it is just so much easier bringing what few painted turtles I have indoors and outdoors according to our highly variable weather.

  23. I thought you dropped the whole thing, the way you build tanks it won't be that much of an issue for you since you have to rebuild it anyway. Glad the fish are safe mah dude!

  24. sucks about the 350, but i'm sure you'll build something even cooler to replace it. i'm really looking forward to watching you build out the new space.
